Hi there!!!

Someone told me that I am crazy to make a trip trough the East Coast of your country in october-november because of the changing weather...

Are they right or wrong?

I am not afraid of torrencial rain but they say many riders store their motorcycles in these dates in that area because of hurricanes, tornadoes and snow.

Thank you very, very much for your input...

By the way if any of you need help planning a trip trough Mexico can surely help you with info, road assictance, occasional companion, friends and beers!

I am planning on doing this route in 25 to 30 days duration...

Am I crazy?

You will find some of the nicest riding weather of the year. Crisp mornings and not hot in the afternoons.

November will be chilly but perfectly bearable if your prepared with the correct gear.

The Fall foliage is spectacular to see.

Say hi through central Massachusetts. I'll put the coffee on. Thumbsup

I usually ride well into December, again be prepared.

November is the beginning of ski season for parts of New England.  You may encounter some snow depending on where you go.  In PA, I will still be riding that time of year.

I grew up in Virginia, currently live in Maryland. Family still lives in Pennsylvania.

October is BEAUTIFUL all over the central east coast. The farther north you go, the later in the year, the cooler temps will become. For MD, VA, PA expect predominantly sunny clear days in October. Daytime temps ranging from 60s into the 80s (occasionally) with nights cooler by 15 or so degrees. Nighttime lows may drop into the 30s.

One warning: November tends to become more rainy and sleet/freezing rain is not unheard of. Be sure to pack good rain gear.

I ride through the year, except when there's frozen water out there - either uncleared, imminently expected or falling. Heated gear makes it all bearable.

If possible, I'd start "up north" and work southward for this adventure. With luck, you'll have nearly ideal riding weather for the whole trip.

I have to say that October is MY favorite "local" riding month, around the Shenandoah Valley, etc.
