I recognize the Crest and 39.  Even PV is on fire? As soon as San Francisquito Canyon and Malibu start burning, pretty much every out of the way place I liked to visit in LA county will be on fire. Sad

'fess up -- which one of you did this?

It freakin sucks right now.  This is going to be one of the biggest Angeles forest fires ever.  The historic Mount Wilson Observatory is in the path of the flames.  In 1929 Edwin Hubble used observations there as a basis for the Big Bang theory.
It also houses a museum.

Sad  I saw in today's news.  All the way along 14, too.

The Wilson observatory will be a loss but so will all the TV and radio towers.  Are there are any cell phone towers up there?  NOAA has a repeater over on Mt. Lukens.  Wonder if what other emergency service radio repeaters will be lost?

Very sad about the two fire fighters.  The road up to Mt. Gleason is tricky without fires raging all around.

Yup, there are lots of cell phone towers up there too.
I also worry for Newcombe's Ranch ( the moto hangout on the Crest), as well as everyone else who lives up there.

On a completely moto-selfish point, I wonder how much damage will be done to the roads up there?  Route 2 finally opened up all the way to Wrightwood after years of closure...

Depends on the rainy season. Landslides and washouts with all that vegetation burned up.

RIP to the two firefighters. Tragic.
