Anyone else have this happen?

My front seat on my 2009 R1200RT keeps falling to the lower level in the back. So my seat tilts upward in the front?
If I set the seat up on the top tier then it is almost not long enough to reach the top tier in the back of the seat and it slowly falls to the lower tier. If it is moved to the lower position front and rear it is fine but I am not as comfortable riding it in the low position.
I can't ride it comfortably when it is between the two settings because the front sticks out and up when the rear falls.
I have asked to see if this is a warranty issue but have not heard anything yet. Bike has maybe 4000 miles on it.

I would check the seat hardware on the seat pan as well as the frame. Sounds like something is loose.

I checked under the seat and the hardware.
The seat pan is not adjustable.
The hardware near the back of the seat is fixed and not adjustable.
The dogbone at the front is loose but still in place and not where the problem is located.
I talked with my local dealer and they will contct BMW to see what they can do.
It is like the seat is folding as you sit on it and then the rubber bumpers on the back of the seat slip down to the lower tier.
This is uncomfortable since the seat profile changes and crushes everything south of the belt line.
No I am not a fat ass either. I am only 230lbs with my gear on.

I too have had my seat drop to the lowest position in the back. It was during a marathon hot day.
As best I can tell, the rubber grommets in the front compressed and allowed the back to slip down.
I was thinking of running through warranty.

I was wondering about placing a spacer of some sort on the seat where the front dogbone connects but thought it might look dumb with a giant space between the seat and the tank. The only other option is to screw a flat piece of metal to the base out back. then again you wouldn't be able to use the lower position then. I will call my BMW dealer tomorrow and find out what the status is.

Talked with my dealer today. He told me that they have a new seat on order. BMW has not had this happen before and before they just give me a new seat that they check to be sure this is the only problem.
I don't want this to happen with the new seat either. I am headed in tomorrow but to pick up something on order. I will talk to the dealer more tomorrow and find out what the staus is.
