This might be a little too impressionistic, but I wanted to share these with you. These were taken over the last couple of days and this evening. Little farm towns with some really nice roads and almost no other vehicles.

Nice. Are you on a roadtrip, or a local?

Hi,
Sorry I didn't see your response until now.
Here's a couple of photos from Lourdes to La Mongie then back via Gourette and Eaux Bonnes back up to Pau.

Thanks, I also feel this is a great area to ride. Contact me if you plan to make it over, and I'll be happy to meet up with you if I can.

You are so lucky.

My daughter spent last year in Montpellier, so we had the opportunity of visiting her, and driving around the country, then heading to Italy.  In 2005 we also visited and spent several weeks in the area, St-Bauzille...

My dream is go there, and rent a bike...crazy roads.   Bigok

Thanks, but Montpellier is in the southeastern part of France, about 500 kms from where I took these photos. Why don't you plan a ride from Montpellier to the southwest when I'm there, and I'll show you my favorite roads in the area?

Thanks Notarian, your ride report on riding Europe sets the standard, so I really appreciate the positive words.
Have you ridden much below Bordeaux? I was kind of wondering why you cut east at Bordeaux rather than continuing south, but figured it was the most direct route to Toulon and the ferry to Corsica.

Correct you are, Azure. I'd seen what I wanted on the west coast and was making tracks for Toulon - Corsica  as I only had 50 some days available.

South of Bordeaux and the Pyrenees will probably have to wait until 2011. Rode most of the Pyrenees in the mid '80's after moving to Altea and I know that its time to do so again.

Cheers
