Ok, so it's not VFR, but I didn't see a VFR1200 listed on that link.

Quite so, tree. I believe the new DN-01 uses this same engine, so it makes some sense if they are training their techs on it.
The Trans-Alp uses this same engine, too - I wish they would have brought that one here as well.

You beat me to it. I was looking at the pic and thinking "Pacific Coast" ......
Saw a bright yellow one (PC800 not Deauville) on the Nova Scotia-Maine ferry last summer. All that plasticky goodness in buttery yellow....... I had a sudden craving for hot buttered popcorn!

I like the Deauville, mostly because it's (sort-of) a descendant of the Hawk, but yikes, is that thing priced in Canadian dollars?!
$10K. Really? For
that?
You could buy a $7K V-Strom, spend $700 in luggage, and still be $2300 ahead.
That'll buy a lot of chain lube! AND the Strom has a 6th gear!
edit:
I just noticed this:
"The only true lightweight touring bike on the market"
What cave is their marketing department typing this from?

Don't get me wrong, the intervening 11 years have assisted Honda in wiping off a LOT of the ugly from the PC platform... but it's still pretty porky and kinda boring...

But hey, if this proves popular, maybe they'll reach into the parts bin and build a lightweight naked bike around that motor. Preferrably with a single side swingarm.
Of course, it would cost $9K, no one would buy it, and then they'd kill it.

Nothing wrong with this way this looks. Any how much is the BMW F800ST? Cut the price point some slack, its not that bad. (big pic, didn't want to embed)

Agreed. For a shaft drive bike with integrated bags, and available ABS, it isn't a bad price. Exactly $2000 LESS than a VFR.

Oh man! But we'd all say how great they were as we try to buy them up 15 years later!
(ya think this time it could have a bigger gas tank?

Glad to hear that they are bringing this to the US finally. I think it may be too practical for this market but I wish it well.
Now, when do we get the XL700V?

60 lbs lighter and an extra gallon of fuel, as far as I can tell. I bet the smaller engine probably makes similar HP figures with advances in tech.
My time on the ZX has really taught me that I'll never be good enough for this bike, but I like light weight and I have to admit what kind of riding I
actually
do vs. what I
pretend
to do.
Put some Ohlins on the Dullsville and I'd never give it up.

In Canada we have the CBF 1000.
Never rode one, but not bad looking in person and you can get bags for it.
By all accounts it is not a bad bike, and this one is priced in Bandit range. I think i would take it over the above from a price point. MSL price here of 12,386.00 CAN or 11,413.10 USD.
