The siver FJR is nice. I would also take the black or red FZ1 both have gold wheels.  Inlove

http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modeloverview/cat/2010/58/model_overview.aspx

Where is the FZ6? Discontinued??

Also do not see the clutchless FJR ??  I didnt think that would go over very well.

Maybe the FZ6 is being updated?  I think they may be holding some back for the Autumn Euro shows - at least, I hope so!

Thanks for the link.

$1400 more than 07's and nothing but colors have changed in 4 yrs.

If the absence of the AE is any indication we wont have to complain
about price next year.

Dollars to donuts the FZ-6 has been discontinued. Last year, many people got the feeling the FZ6R was designed to take it's place.

I'd find it hard to believe during this economy that Yamaha would invest in a new entry-level model one year, then invest in updating their other entry-level bike the next.

I really hope I'm wrong, though.

I was just hoping they would bring the Tenere to the states but if they every even condsidered it I'm guessing the economy killed that as well.

You are correct sir!   The FZ6 is history as is the AE model FJR.

I don't have a clue about the FZ-6 for sure but quite often when manufacturers have a large inventory, they will not do a production run for a year, but will still have plenty of the previous year on the floors of showrooms. (Not sure this is the case with the FZ-6)

With the economy being the way it is, this could be the case. (but not sure) They are still listing the FZ-6 in the 2009 model year.

Suzuki did this with the B-King here for a year.

The FZ 6 is no longer.   The TTR's and PW's are the only bikes that will not have 2010 production runs  but will remain in the line.

I can see getting rid of the FZ6, after undercutting its price point and market position with the FZ6R.

I don't see axing both the FZ6 and the R6S in the same year. There is a tremendous brand/market gap between the FZ6R and the R6.

Oh c'mon, it's not that bad!  Has a charming Moto-Morini Granpasso kind of dorky look.  I'd love to see Yamaha start mixing it up in the US adventure-sports market.

I've heard about the Tenere, what size and type engine's do those have? Don't understand why some makers only have European markets for some bikes.

Points for creativity in mixing a Moto Morini Gran Paso and a Yamaha MT-03.

it's a thumper, 651cc iirc.  nice bike, sort of a current KLR with more up-to-date motor, chassis and suspension.  i'd love to get my hands on one.  i sent a request/beg/demand letter to Yamaha last year, before the economy hit the skids.  maybe 2012.....

Well, I'm willing to look at dealerships pretty much anywhere in California... but they seem hard to find now. Odd- sales are slow, but Yamaha is makinf it hard to find one in the first place. Seems like the overall effect is that they're keeping their own sales lower than they would have been anyway.

That does seem steep.

Better yet, find a leftover '06 or '07 and buy the batwing, hard bags, and other OEM parts and roll your own for lots less.  I think the only other "missing" part is the passenger backrest, though you may need the windshield mount for the wing as well.  I just noticed a brand new '06 on Craigslist for under $9k recently (not including prep and taxes).  Yamaha hasn't made any mechanical changes to the bike since '06 AFAIK.

My Strat S was Black Cherry & Raven, but I always lusted after the Roadliner S paint (Candy Red & Raven, I think) as in the photo you attached -- that's the best color scheme yet for that bike.  The Black Cherry seemed too dark to me, though nobody else seemed to agree.  The guy I sold it to last year had it up for sale recently, and I have to admit it looked good even in his lousy craigslist photos.  Smile

For what it's worth, local dealer told me the reason there is no 2010 AE model FJR is that there are looads of '09 models still at dealerships.
 Headscratch
If this is true I guess it could make a comeback in 2011 but I wouldn't bet on it.

On an unrelated note, I talked to a B King owner this weekend who works at a Suzuki dealer.
He knew of another dealer who has unassembled B Kings still in the box.
He said he would not assemble one and put it on the showroom floor because nobody was interested in them.
Sounds like a strange way to sell bikes Headscratch
