I've heard about the Tenere, what size and type engine's do those have? Don't understand why some makers only have European markets for some bikes.

Seems unlikely, but something to hope for
Points for creativity in mixing a Moto Morini Gran Paso and a Yamaha MT-03.

I'm looking for a black '09. I haven't seen a silver FJR in person yet, but I son't think I'm keen on it.

it's a thumper, 651cc iirc. nice bike, sort of a current KLR with more up-to-date motor, chassis and suspension. i'd love to get my hands on one. i sent a request/beg/demand letter to Yamaha last year, before the economy hit the skids. maybe 2012.....

I sure hope besides some paint that they fixed that lousy efi setup on the fjr. Can't believe guys would go for a new color and still put up with that.... BUT, I love the red/gold fz1! Nice!

You are in Bakersfield? Good luck. I think I found the last one in Southern California about 3 weeks ago.
Found it in Huntington Beach, sitting on the floor with zero miles on it.

Well, I'm willing to look at dealerships pretty much anywhere in California... but they seem hard to find now. Odd- sales are slow, but Yamaha is makinf it hard to find one in the first place. Seems like the overall effect is that they're keeping their own sales lower than they would have been anyway.

That does seem steep.
Better yet, find a leftover '06 or '07 and buy the batwing, hard bags, and other OEM parts and roll your own for lots less. I think the only other "missing" part is the passenger backrest, though you may need the windshield mount for the wing as well. I just noticed a brand new '06 on Craigslist for under $9k recently (not including prep and taxes). Yamaha hasn't made any mechanical changes to the bike since '06 AFAIK.

My Strat S was Black Cherry & Raven, but I always lusted after the Roadliner S paint (Candy Red & Raven, I think) as in the photo you attached -- that's the best color scheme yet for that bike. The Black Cherry seemed too dark to me, though nobody else seemed to agree. The guy I sold it to last year had it up for sale recently, and I have to admit it looked good even in his lousy craigslist photos.

Saw a Black Cherry Roadliner S the other day. What a beautiful bike

For what it's worth, local dealer told me the reason there is no 2010 AE model FJR is that there are looads of '09 models still at dealerships.
If this is true I guess it could make a comeback in 2011 but I wouldn't bet on it.
On an unrelated note, I talked to a B King owner this weekend who works at a Suzuki dealer.
He knew of another dealer who has unassembled B Kings still in the box.
He said he would not assemble one and put it on the showroom floor because nobody was interested in them.
Sounds like a strange way to sell bikes
