I'd love to go, but I think I'd avoid those Alpine passes in November! EEK!
Now if I could join the ride from Napoli.... Bigok

LEGENDARY ITALIAN motorcycle manufacturer Moto Guzzi have announced a mass European ride-out, named 'Where Eagles Fly'.

Convoys of Moto Guzzi enthusiasts and their bikes will set off from six European cities to meet in Milan on November 10th for the opening of the EICMA 2009 motorcycle show.

Come on Orson, you know you want to do it! Bigok

Yah. The Alps in November. I wonder whut marketing guru thought up that one  Bigsmile

I think the Moto-Protesta on September 19 sounds like a lot more fun

A protest and a blues band on Lake Como beats Milan  Bigsmile

We actually just got back from Italy and Mandello. We were at that protest. Awesome turnout. Bikes from all over. People there said the numbers were comparable to a GMG meeting.

Word is (in the papers there at least), that Piaggio has capitulated a bit and has said they will keep at least some production there. Who knows for sure though. There have been some games played with actual name of the Guzzi division which apparently, makes it easier for Piaggio to do as they please.

Hopefully, things will work out for the best. Here's a couple of pics of the factory and the protest for those interested....

Excellent pics, I love the symbol of the cross-armed and upset Eagle.  I assume they are protesting the Mandello closure - it's good to see some passion in the fans, and they didn't let the rain stop them either.

If I were to guess, I would say there was about a thousand Guzzi's there. More people. The street was closed for a time, and the parade of bikes leaving lasted for 15 minutes straight. Impressive display and what a sound!
