Wife loves to ride but she's not into long rides.  3-4 hours is plenty for her.  So I drop her off when she's ready and she has to find her own ride back.   Lol

 She follows behind me on her Yamaha Majesty scooter. Unfortunately right now I'm laid up with a broken leg. She took the scoot out to run some errands the other day and when she got home she says, "I really miss my riding buddy.". I miss that too.

Trips? No way. She stays home.

Short local rides (one hour or less)? Sometimes.

Used to ride with me, back in the days before a kid.  Now she feels it's too many eggs on one basket, and I don't blame her.

Always 2-up.  Occasional local rides and date-night rides, and usually 1-2 overnight or weekend trips per year.

She doesn't have her motorcycle license yet.  I get promises about how she will get her license, and wants to ride alongside me instead of as a passenger, but that has not panned out yet.

3 hours tops in pillion.  Back issues.  I recommend the significant others have their own bike if possible.  That way each person gets the whole experience, not one blocked by broad back.  That's what she would say if she were commenting.

My husband has his own bike (actually, he has more bikes than I do right now!  Crazy ) but he doesn't like long trips as much as I do.  He'll go to make me happy, but I think he likes short rides to lunch more. Lol

My wife has been riding almost as long as I have, and will only ride pillion if we're staying someplace away from home, and go out for dinner -- that way, one of us can have a glass or two with the meal ;-}

My wife likes to go pillon every now and then, but most "trips" are solo for me...  We do a few day rides and the occasional overnighter, but rarely anything past 250 miles...  I've tried to get her interested in riding her own mount, but she's not motivated and I don't want to push her to ride if she doesn't want to buy into the process...

I wish mine would ride her own but at 5'2 she won't even consider it.  She doesn't have the confidence.  And the broad back comment reminds me of something she said the other day on a ride.  After going thru some pretty good twisties she said she likes those better as it's the only time she can around me.  I'm 6'5 and 200 and too many pounds.

After my wife's first 3 hr trip, she was ready for her second,........... 9000 km. and she loved it.

Since then we manage an 8-9000 km trip each year, and a 2500 km long weekend as well.  Hoping to see here on her own bike next year, and ready to travel one her own in two or so.

Thanks but the confidence issue is the deal breaker.  She won't even entertain the idea.

My wife loves to ride on the back she took her MSF test long time ago but never realy was encouraged. now i think i have it to where she will go get her lic i redid a KX250 for her to run back and forth to work on. lol only 7 miles of back rds to work but its a start. and she is short also at 5ft3. so finding somthing she feels confident about is my next search. im thinking maybe a 250 Nija.

My wife has her own, an SV650 but mostly rides along with me 2-up. I encouraged her to get her license and now it worries the hell out of me when she rides.
