The LC8s in all other KTMs have a valve adjustment due every 15,000 kilometers which (I believe) equates to around 9,500 miles. I'm not sure if the SMT would be any different.
Regarding the oil filter and screens, I'm assuming the STM's motor will be the same as all other LC8s too based on the fact I see the remote oil reservoir. The LC8 uses a dry sump system to keep the motor as low as possible for weight hence the need of the remote oil reservoir. There are two screens to clean and one oil filter to change. Also, oil is drained directly from the motor and as well as the remote reservoir. It's really not that bad comparred to other bikes. Only the Adventure is a pain because you have to remove one of the two fuel tanks to access one of the oil screens.

Not gonna happen. The only thing the tiger gets for 010 is a higher price, and the SE edition w/special paint. The new prices are up at their website now.

I don't think the Euro mags have done any comparos with the SMT yet. Reviews, yes, but no comparos. In the reviews it's all raves. They love the SM to begin with, and the T just extends it usability range.

Hopefully it's way too tall for me. It's got every I want, but my little 'tard has brought the stupid back out of me enough to think that it must go to the local track and stay there. It reminds me of my first, a 20" black Rollfast.

I wish there was a KTM dealer near me that treated the brand like the other Euro-bikes. All the KTM dealers here are multi-line shops with mostly Japanese brands. Which means no demo rides.
