As of this morning 10-2-09, some of the 2010 Suzuki's are posted on their site but Im wondering if the info is right at least as far as the pricing goes.

Baaa  Thanks for pointing that out!  I missed that as well.  I was thinking "Jesus, the US dollar must really be tanking!  Crazy"

I hope they make the 2010 Wee Strom in white.  They've done every other zany color out there: silver/blue, yellow, orange.  I think it would awesome in a pearl white, like the Tiger 1050 and Speed Triple.  Or the '93 VFR750.

And they should REALLY make the ABS version in some other color than graphite gray.  Seems to me that if you care enough about safety to spring for the ABS, you'd want a more hi-viz color.

Hell, it would be kinda cool if they made the whole bike hi-viz yellow, now that I think about it.  You don't buy a V-Strom for it's looks! Bigsmile  Might as well burn the image of your ugly bike into people's retinas!  Twofinger

Does any manufacturer offer a bike in eye-sizz yellow yet?

And when are they going to update the V-Strom?  It really hasn't changed since 2002.

When they do change it, are they going to make it similar to the Gladius?  Probably, I think.  It'll probably have an aluminum/steel frame like the Gladius.

If it's as narrow in the middle as the Gladius, that would be a plus.  That's one thing I don't really dig about my Strom... why is a V-Twin so thick in the middle like that?

Triumph offered the Sprint RS in "Acidic Yellow" in 2002. That was a really bright yellow. I think that color made it to a Daytona 955i at some point as well.

Then they really have some problems with whomever is trying to launch their 2010 webisite because it came from here. http://www.suzukicycles.com/Product%20Lines/Cycles.aspx and there is no ca in that. Its also been taken off so someone must have caught the mistake.

Yeah the US site seemed to link to the Canada site there for awhile.  Must be some web mistress not paying attention.

And the bike you linked was an 09 V-strom touring model, btw.  The Canada site - http://moto.suzuki.ca/Product%20Lines/Cycles.aspx?year=2010 - only lists the 2010 dirt bikes for now.  Someone had a rumor going that Suzuki was only going to make 2010 dirt bikes, and not any street bikes, but I have no idea if that is true.

They done it again Saturday night. They had a tab up for 2010 but when you click on the bikes under that tab it ges to the Canadian Suzuki site again.

Somehow this does not surprise me with all the Suzuki telemetry problems I have had lately

Looks nice but:

Yet, so far, these models are for Europe only, with Suzuki officials awaiting word on whether the new 1250s will be American bound.

I'm thinking I want to see it person.  It got me interested enough to go test ride a 1250 Bandit, and I must say, what a great engine that bike has.  Offer that motor up with better wind protection at a decent price and I might be sold.

Impatiently waiting for 2010 models on Suzuki's website.

I think it looks good, no radical style change, the fairing just more refined.  The tank looks the same.  I was hoping that they might change it a bit.  Being long of limb, the top of my knees contact the flared out sides of the tank, so when I test rode one a while back it was kind of uncomfortable with my legs splayed outward.

I was looking on Suzuki's site the other day and for many of the models you can click on the 2008 version of each model.  The price on the Bandit 1250 went up by $1000 from 08 to 09 - WTF?!?!?!   Crazy

They hold their value for shit so it's easy to pick up a clean low mileage bike for decent $$.  I love my Bandit but this new one isn't worth the asking price IMHO.  Or I'm just living in the past..  $9k for a mediocre bike?   Headscratch

At the beginning of 2008, $1 was 107 yen. At the beginning of 2009 it was 90 yen. A 16% decline in exactly one year.
A 2008 1250S was $8300. A 2009 is $9300.

Converting the US prices to Japanese yen, a 2008 was 888k yen on January 1st and a 2009 was 837k. That means the bike is actually cheaper now, from Suzuki's perspective: 6% cheaper. They're reducing their profit margins to try to keep the price as low as they can, but the dollar is total shit so the US price still increased $1000.

It's starting to feel kinda late in the fall, and Suzuki still hasn't released anything for the 2010 USA lineup.  What gives?  Anyone got a hook up with a Suzy dealer?  If so you should ask if they know anything... inquiring minds wanna know :pokestick:

The good news is that they finally seem to have a 2010 link on their website -

The bad news is that it doesn't show anything besides one cruiser model so far.   :pokestick:  Shrug Headscratch

Yeah, I noticed that this morning.  I was excited until I clicked on "2010" and realized the only 2010 model is the M50.

I'll just keep twiddling my thumbs.

Practically NOVEMBER and we don't even know the colors of the returning models for Suzuki.  I'm kind of surprised.  Do you think suzuki is troubled financially?  Perhaps they are hedging their bets for the 2010 models, waiting to see what they'll import?

I'm getting anxious... my wife wants a gladius and I'm interested to see the colors for 2010.  OR if they bring the rumored Stratosphere to life... (although the economy probably killed it.)

Any info on the interwebs?

Practically NOVEMBER and we don't even know the colors of the returning models for Suzuki.  I'm kind of surprised.

The first IMS show is Nov. 13th, I would have thought the 2010's would be on the site by now. Even if there are no changes they should have the colors up already.

I agree, this is rather odd.

I heard the IT guys were layed off and they have not found a replacement yet.  Lol

All kidding aside, I like this new direction for Suzuki and I would have liked to see it as a 1400 ST that goes directly up against te FJR and C14, 1300GT. If it looked good and was priced right they could have a pretty hot machine on their hands. I don't think this is it.

Now I am confused the  Canadian Suzuki site is now showing the 2010 gsx1250 abs ( bandit) updated like the euro model but...they are also showing a 2010 gsx1250 SEA ABS touring identical to the 2009 model. Prices are up too. Crazy

It looks like the Bandit moniker has been dropped for the 2010 model.  Makes sense since Bandit = GSF.  The older Katanas were GSX's.  I hope they don't bring that name back.   Bigsmile

I have a feeling the 2010 lineup for Suzuki will be a big disappointment...

Maybe now they'll have time to finally update the US site.  I see the base GSX1250FA goes for $11,799 Canadian.  What do you figure, maybe $10,999 if it makes it to the US?

As of 9:30 pm mtn standard time the Suzuki USA website is again automatically linking you to the Canadian site if you click on the "Motorcycle" link.

They seriously must have retards running their website.  I'm pretty sure my 11 month old daughter could get as good of results as the Suzuki IT team.

Yeah well, they aren't the only ones behind.  BMW, KTM, Ducati, don't have all their 2010 line-up pricing & colors yet either.  Next week is EICMA in Milan, maybe we will learn more after that.

At least Ducati has on their site when they are going to post their 2010's, they even have a countdown clock on this page http://www.multistrada.ducati.com/ with the days, hours and minutes left.

Suzuki has to be ready with their bikes for next weeks Dallas show. There is no reason for the US website not being updated yet. Yes, I am a impatient bastard this time of year  Bigsmile

You have a lot of nerve bringing facts and situation analysis into this....

Let's all calm down and take a step backwards...

If you owned a company who, despite selling some of the greatest products in the market place, was down on sales by 30+% by no fault of ANYTHING other than that consumers simply aren't able to buy right now... would you be in a hurry to completely retool for new models?

Anyone saying "yes" is either delusional, or has no clue what it actually takes to manufacture a complex system.

A new model? Yes.
A couple of new models? Maybe.
Revamp a whole group of products? No f'ing way.

Your staples stay. You experiment with one, maybe two new models.

ie... Honda.

All I want to know is if a new model they have already announced (GSX1250FA), and is on the websites in the UK and Canada, is coming to the US market.  That, and if it is, having a price would be nice.

I am with Jetpilot..... all I want to know is what colors do we get on the bikes in the US and do we get the same ones as Canada, sometimes in the past we have not.

As far as retooling for new models, I could care less. I would just like to see models that are already available in Europe or other countries make it to the States. I'll use Yamaha as a example here. They have two bikes I would love to have if they were available, the Bulldog and the Tenere. Like to have the Dog for the street and the Tenere as a dual purpose. Personally, I blame the Harley "lifestyle" for this. We get every Japanese Harley clone knockoff but not other styles of bikes.

Only because they sell in viable numbers - enough to make it worth it to bring the products here, get them through fed-dot and epa certification - a 'start from zero' process with each model. If you sell 100 of one item and 1 of another, yet it costs the same ridiculous amount to get them both here... it doesn't make sense to bring the single-seller here. At all.

You hear a lot of noise about "if they bring that here" and "I can't wait to buy one used" in the same sentence all too often. The MFGs hear us, apparently.

Exactly. That was the whole point here, not brand new models.

The Dallas show is one week from today so they have to already have their bikes ready to load on the truck for the show therefore there is no excuse for the website not being up. The Canadian site is up with 2010's on it.

Then again maybe Suzuki has pulled out of the IMS this year and plans on bringing no bikes to the states for 2010 which was a rumor about four months ago that at the time I laughed at.

A Suzuki shop owner I know told me that Suzuki had large volumes of production overruns this past year and now there are wearhouses full of unsold bikes.  The credit crunch had a lot to do with that.  18-23 year olds couldn't get loans for bike.  I also heard that Suzuki was laying off a lot of its marketing dept.  It's not looking very good.  I would not be surprised if we did not see any new Suzukis in the US this next year.

Thats probably why they keep flashing the 2010 Canadian site on the US site to tease you so if you want a 2010 you can just move north to Canada.

Neither of my two local Suzuki dealers have either of the three GSXR's. It looks like if they are overstocked in warehouses they would send some more out to the dealers to try and sell.  Shrug

I still cannot imagine no 2010 GSXR's or V-Stroms, everything else in their lineup maybe, but I thought those really sold for them.

I can't either.  While I'm surprised we haven't seen 2010 US models yet, I haven't given up hope entirely.  One local dealer I asked said they didn't know anything about the 2010 Suzuki's yet and wouldn't until some time in December.  I know dealers are usually the last to get information so take that for what it's worth.  Still, no 2010 GSXR, not even just a color change?  Those left over 09 bikes better be cheap.

Seriously folks, unless a totally new or revamped model comes out, the difference from a 2009 to a 2010 model will be paint colour.

I mean who cares.

Unless any of the manufacturers had anything new planned on the drawing board, I would bet that development of any new models would be put on hold until the market starts to improve. Just my guess anyway.

Price changes are just a reflection of the weakening of the USD in relation to other currencies (the Yen, the Euro, etc). Not the companies "gouging" customers.

You can thank the US gov. for allowing our manufacturing base to get exported away and then toying with monetary policy to try to make what is left of our exports more compeditive (which makes all those imports we are now dependant on more expensive).

Wondering if anyone had heard anything new on 2010 Suzuki's?  I talked to the local megadealer's sales manager, also a friend and neighbor, and he told me no 2010 Suzuki road bikes in the line for the US.  He said they wanted to order some bikes as their Suzuki inventory is actually low and were told to get what they needed from other dealers, that the bikes were out there.  The only reason the 2010 dirt bikes made it were so they could race them in this years professional supercross/motocross.  He was disappointed that the 25th anniversary GSXR was not going to be available because he knew he could move those.

I asked about possibly getting some 2010 bikes later in the year.  I had read a remark that there was a chance that new bikes would be arriving in June.  His reply was that if anything becomes available later in the season it would be ATVs and that would depend on dealer inventory and sales.  He also remarked that June was nearing the end of peak sales season for them so even if new bikes became available they wouldn't get many to put on the floor that late in the year.

It doesn't sound good for this year.

I was really hoping to see the new GSX1250FA.  The aftermarket is gearing up for the bikes introduction in Europe.

I sure hope Suzuki is holding back for a reason that will be worth the wait.  If this means they'll be able to launch an all-new model to compete with the likes of the FJR, C14, and BMW K1300 it'll be sweet.  Somehow I have a feeling we'll all be disappointed and they'll pull a "Honda" on us.  (new paint & graphics!!)

In reality they're probably more focused on the GSX-R line.   Rolleyes
