I have a friend with an '05 VFR and it has about 12k miles on.

On my FJR you are supposed to do a throttle body sync every 5k miles or so and I do it myself, as I have done with carb sync's on my other bikes.

Should we be doing the TBS on the VFR?

If so, any tips or procedures on how to do it as I haven't ever worked on a VFR?

Isnt there any kind of maintenance schedule in the owners manual that would suggest what should be done?

You may have to do a starter valve sinc. All the info you need on vfrs can be found onhttp://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php?.

There's some excellent information on that site, including a step by step how-to on synching throttle bodies.  A lot of folks have posted smoother idle, and improved fuel economy after synching throttle bodies on brand new VFR's.
