Just made my camping reservations for Kerrville-Schreiner Park.  Why plan ahead when you can wait 'til the last moment.  Hope I see some of you out there.

Hey Tom, do I need to get my own campsite? I am heading out there Friday after my MIL leaves.

Yeah, they say two tents per campsite and Scott's going with me.  Campsites were $15/night for water-only, and she said I'm in a "riverside site".  Great to hear you're going!!  I plan on leaving home around 8:45 AM tomorrow and taking I-10 a good part of the way.  Haven't decided whether I want to go north of San Antonio, or through it and up from Hondo.  The Hondo route is my favorite for getting to Lost Maples, but kind of off track for Kerrville-Schreiner.  It would get me to Mac and Ernie's around lunch, though.

Mac and Ernie's:  http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5837  well worth the stop, at least they have been every time I was there.  Concours for this trip, V-Strom maybe to Junction in June for LDDave's.  Heading out 45 to 10 at this point, then probably straight to San Antonio, on through 90 to Hondo and up 462 from there.

What was a smokin' great ride home from Kerrville turned into a long day for Bill and I.

About 45 miles from home the front Dunlop Road Smart on my ST1300 delaminated at about 75MPH just outside Cleburne, TX.  A buddy of mine from Fort Worth was nice enough to come pick me with his truck. Bill waited with me until I was loaded up and moving again.  It would have really sucked if the tire went south down on one of the tight turns in the Hill Country.

Today was the first time in 5 years and 72K miles that my ST has been on a trailer. A sad day indeed.

good thing that tire didn't go down on one of the twisties..

I rode east out of Kerrville in light rain/heavy mist for the first 90 miles then it was a good ride home

Will have to get those great pictures of the wildflowers posted up on Monday.

Good rally guys...

No kidding! That was the first thing that went through my mind after getting stopped.

Mine isn't the first bike to have this problem:

Hey everyone.  We (Cricketmrs and I) made it home on Sunday.  We had a great time at the meet!! Good to see everyone again.  We put in another 400 mi day on Sat after a tour around the area; Llano for BBQ at Coopers with the guys (fantastic food); and Dublin (DP for the wife.)  Smile  Spent the night in Lawton OK so we had only a short ride home this morning.

Bikerider, sorry to hear about the tire trouble - that's never fun.

Wanted to say THANKS to Bob for organizing the event.  The hotel was nice and in a great area for riding.  Also another thanks to Mike for leading us around the area into some of the best riding we've seen in awhile.  And one more to Stan making up the three who were nice enough to slow down for Pam - not to mention the helpful hints on the twisties.

What a great group of guys that came out for the meet.  We really enjoyed the entire trip - can't wait for the next one.

Thanks Cricket and Pam for your good words.

1.  The real thanks goes to Mike who led us around like we were special Royalty or sumpthin.

2.  This was the best trip in my 3 years with the club and look forward to next year.

3.  For all you guys with friends with trailers, what if you were even farther out.
I joined AAA and they will tow you 100 miles to where ever you want from anywhere.

4.  SEND IN YOUR LINKS TO YOUR PICTURES, NOT THE PICTURES. I will try to get some neutral person to help judge which ones go on the calendar.

BADFAST FJR & I got back to Tucson about 11am this morning.  We had drizzle, fog, and a bit of rain from Kerrville to Fort Stockton, and then nothing but sun from Fort Stockton on.  Total round trip, including riding the hill country was just under 2,300 miles.  What a great time and swapping lies.

Bob, thanks for all your efforts and the great hotel choice.

Got home last night about 6:00 PM.Rode through light drizzle for about 35 miles out of Kerrville with Bob but the rest of the ride was great.
Major kudos to Big Bob(Kwixtar), for the great set up for this trip.Great hotel and especially great food!
Double kudos to Mike(FJRmgm) for schlepping us newcomers through some of the best roads in the area, you and Bob should be ambassadors for the Lone Star State.
It was great to see Gila Monster and BadfastFJR (The Tuscon Mafia) again.
Cricket and CricketMrs,it was nice to finally meet the pretty half of the pair Lol!
1640 miles no troubles or performance awards.

P.S. Bikerider glad your tire troubles didn't happen at speed,it was good to see you and Bill again also.

I am glad everyone is home safe.

I ordered a set of PR2's today. No more Dunlop's for me.

My "pregnant" Road Smart:

Since the Tuscon boys thought we were nuts:

More road side attractions in no particular order:

It was great meeting everybody and I guess I am going to have to come out to more of these events. I'm glad I was able to prove that Buells do exist outside of a Harley stock room, and I rolled over 3k miles.

So what was decided for next time?
