Oil level question..
«
on:
October 17, 2009, 06:51:48 PM »
My 850 LeMansIII came with the original owner's manual.
Sweet.
But.... pages 35-36 are missing. Not fallen out, missing. Conveniently pages 33-34 are duplicated
Anyway, 35-36 describe how to check the oil level. So, how? I figured out bike on centerstand but should the dipstick be screwed in all the way, or just resting on the top of the threads? How much oil does she take?
Thanks!
(ya ya Guzziology is on order)

Sure does, BUT and its a huge but if you look on the V11 site there is a great deal written about the dip stick being wrong leading to oil starvation under hard acceleration so most owners let the stick just 'sit' on the crankcase when filling with oil. Mick

The Haynes manual covers this plus. Unfortunately the puppy ate mine.
Here's a link to a site with manuals online.

The G5 manual should do then. Assuming it is a round head rather than a square head,

Nope, it's a square head. That came in with the LeMans III. Lemans II is round head.

Oops.
Then the G5, 100sp manual with the Le Mans 111 supplement should do it-the engine is also pretty much the same as the Spada 11
