I can't take the fugly out of the equation - I simply refuse to ride or drive an ugly vehicle. And the new one is (in my eyes) decidedly ugly (worse than the original, which wasn't a looker either).

My sentiments exactly regarding the new one. You just can't get past the fugly.
I did like the old one though -still do. It had a compact "carved-from-a-billet" style to it that somehow worked. The new one looks like an ugly pile of parts.
