286 in monroeville is the best option for pittsburgh folks imo. easy access for most and you're right there on 286. for me it's quicker to just head out to kittanning from home and shoot up but then i miss the groups. i plan on meeting up there but if it happens to be too cold (for me) to start, i might hold off and just head up from home later in the morning. time will tell.

Lee,

It's tough for me to plan a week in advance let alone a month, but if I can manage it, I'll go down.  I live in the Worcester, MA area.

Ryan and Kristen and perhaps a few other folks from SquidBusters.com will be there. It's shaping up to be a nice turnout again. If the weather cooperates, could be huge.

we're working on wedding and honeymoon planning at the moment, and those have top priority at the moment!
regardless, i will definitely be up for riding out and/or back with you depending on the number of days i can devote to it... last years ride was suh-weeeet Thumbsup

rich, as garry has confirmed, R & K are going and they have volunteered to lead the new rider/begginer speed group. ryan in front and kristen in the back doing "clean up" if i remember right. they are meeting up with most pitt folks at the meet spot on 286.

they are keeping it an option to either just reverse the route after lunch or take a slightly longer/diff. way back but i don't think they are planning on going up 144 or anything since they are leading the newer riding group

continuing one tradition and starting another.......

I just joined - this is my maiden posting on the resurrected board. I was vx800inpa before the board went under.

I'm probably going to be a Johnny-come-lately at the Meet and Eat again this year. Last year I started off the day with a drained battery but the late start turned out to have a silver lining – I met up with Doug, Fish, and Vince along the way and I've shared many an on-and-off bike grin with them and Garry since.

This year, April 22 is the date for the annual Blessing of the Bikes at Murrysville Alliance Church. I'm not religious but I've been going there for the last four years and I'm a sucker for tradition so I'll be heading there again. Huge numbers turn out and it's a really fun, friendly, good-humored event. A lot of my students are members of the church and there's a great feeling of camaraderie and sense of occasion – couldn't miss it! Well...a weather forecast of torrential downpours at noon over the eastern suburbs and sunny skies in Clearfield would change things Wink

I'm planning to head up to the Clearfield area after the blessing and may catch up with someone (the slow talkers/slow eaters?) to ride/ride back with. I'll probably get there by around 3-ish.  I'll keep my eyes posted on the planned rides to see if I can intersect with any of them.

Jesse, welcome back!  I hope to see you up there and think it's great you're a traditionalist.  Have fun at the Blessing and have a safe ride up.   Thumbsup

Hmmmmm.... Sit in a parking lot with 6000 other bikes or actually RIDE.... A no-brainer for me. I ran into a buddy at Bella Luna last night that invited me to the BotB and I invited him to the Meet and Eat. Sorry for the local scheduling conflict. I picked the date based mostly on track days at BeaveRun. The previous weekend plus the two after are full of track days frequented by many regional sport/sport-touring riders (TPM, open, Euro Moto, NESBA).

Sitting?  Nah....I'll be walking around admiring all the chrome and looking for ideas to farkle up the ol' vx  Lol
I've never been to a bike night at Quaker Steak etc - the BOTB and Johnstown are my two annual forays into these mega events.  I'd skip Johnstown at the drop of a helmet but I'm hooked on the BOTB... Embarassment Lol

Thanks for putting this together, your scheduling makes perfect sense, Garry! I doubt too many of the BOTB folks will head for Clearfield or for Beaver Run. I'm hoping to get in a track day myself this year.

Since I'll most likely miss you guys at the Meat and Eat, I'll be looking forward to catching up with you all pretty soon afterwards for some twisty fun.

Thanks, Doug! I see that you're going up on the Saturday. You'll probably end up playing it by ear on the Sunday but if you do have definite ride plans for Sunday keep me posted and I just may be able to intersect with you.

I plan to attend unless the weather is a total washout.

Quote
NOTE: I expressed the concerns/complaints about the slow service last year and Denny said he would have a full-staff on as well as offer a Touring Special that (I guess) would be faster to make/deliver. All food is cooked-to-order and the kitchen is only so big, so expect things to be a bit slow regardless, but he'll do his best.

Wouldn't it be fair to the restaurant owner to tally up an expected head count of attendees a day or so ahead of the event? By that time, weather and last minute changes of plans that may affect attendance should be in clear focus...
