Cinders on the roads???

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!   Crazy

If the roads around Clearfield are full of gravel, I'm definitely riding the KLR!  Thumbsup

Roads around Clearfield should be cinder free. From about Williamsport and west, we just received rain this past week-end. Maybe a little snow on the mountain tops, but that's it. Keep in mind that trout season opened this past Saturday, and spring turkey season opens the 28th, so a lot of these two lane back roads are going to have a decent amount of traffic on, some of them just gawking around! EEK!

Hi Tom, enjoy the ride.  Just remember there was around a foot of snow in the northeast PA area.   Most of it should be melted, but there are alot of cinders on the roads from the storm.   Ride safe.  I probably will make a day trip out there sunday.  Hope to see you then.

Gary

Hey Gary,

How are you doing?  We plan to avoid the NE corner and ride south of Port Jervis.  Hopefully the lower half of the state is clean, dry, ready for us.  Our current plan is to cut out Sunday morning around 9:00 AM and ride a north south zig zag route back east to NY.  We will miss the Burgerfest but won't have to slab it back.

I'll be looking for you on the Catskill run.

Yep, we'll be at Day's Inn. We hope to make it there for dinner on Saturday. Maybe we'll eat dinner at the same place as last year, the food was good and cheap Thumbsup You and Holly going there again?

Jay said something about being in Boston that weekend, not sure if it's work or pleasure.

I’m not doing any early morning Sunday rides this year, the 600 miles to get home will be plenty riding for me. This will be the first “street” ride of the season for me literality. I’ve only been riding dirt exclusively since December, my street bikes have been parked in the garage since last December, I want to take it easy  Rolleyes Lol

Given our recent weather, I would have never guessed we would get so lucky for this weekend.

I am leaving today at 3:45pm.  I will be traveling to a town outside of Lancaster called Ronks, Pennsylvania.  Staying overnight in a guest room.  Hard getting a room for cheap because of the,,,,get this,,,,,,,Scrapple Fest this weekend. Lol Lol Crazy EEK!.  Anyway, I will be waking up early Saturday morning with the goal of being in Clearfield in the 12:00pm hour.  Grab lunch and then do a loop that is part of Garry's "God's Country" loop.  A little bit of 144, some 120, 44, Hyner overlook, and back into town at the Day's Inn for some food and maybe, just maybe a little drink.  See y'all there.

Ahem.  (speaking in small voice)  Based on a couple reviews I read on the trip advisor of the Days Inn at Clearfield, http://www.tripadvisor.com/Feeds-d102640-treviews.xml and an eyewitness report from a riding bud who was just there a few minutes ago to check it out and who described it as "nasty", I've switched my res to the Comfort Inn directly adjacent.

But I will slouch on over Saturday eve to schmooze, especially if anyone's got beer.

Thanks for the heads-up.  The Comfort is $30 more ($79 vs $49) than the Days though, so I'll deal with the nasty for one night.

Looks great!! Are you going to be on the fz1 or the trumpet, Doug? Very unlikely, but I just may meet you on the road depending on how the day works out.

I'm going to ride up for a burger after the BOTB in Murrysville and will meander home afterwards. It will probably be around two before I get there (rush should be well over by then) and most everyone will have left by then. Are Vince, James, or Fish coming?

I'll be on the Fizzer.  I ordered soft side bags for the Trumpet, but they haven't come in yet or I would be tempted to take it.

Vince and James may come up and back on Sunday, no official word yet.  Regrading Fishy, I haven't heard back from him.  I think he's blowing us off.  What a Guzzi snob!   Lol

I hope you can make it Jesse

Smile  Hey!  I resemble that remark. Lol

Sorry I've been incommunicado so much lately, I've been studying.  I've got a big certification test coming up and have a month to learn about two years worth of crap. Crazy  f*&^ing exam cost about $1000.00 to take so I'd really, really, like to pass on the first shot.  Anyway, I've been studying. Sad

I do hope to make it to Clearfield on Sunday.  I just need to get into the garage and fix the turn signal and lube the speedo cable and I'm set.  After that, I'll ignore mowing the lawn to piss off the neighbors and I'm all set.

We stayed in the Days Inn last year (along with lots of other people)...and I don't remember it being "nasty," unless you're strictly accustomed to staying at the Ritz-Carlton!  Lol (Or unless it's gotten a lot worse in 12 months!)
