Touring has front fendah extendah?

I also notice the DP lower seat so I assume this is an accessorized one and not stock obviously.    Remember these are barely into production so all the photos of bikes from around the world are most likely the same bikes that were at EICMA in Nov.

I too sat on it at Cleveland.  I like it and think it would make an excellent touring bike for me.   The one key thing I walked away with after studying the bike in person is it's really not designed to ride off the paved road like a GS or Adventure.  The ergos don't allow the rider to stand on the pegs without hunching over.  The Multi would require significant bar risers in order to do that.

The bike is much better looking once you get to see it in person.  Heck, I didn't really even notice the beak which seemed to stand out to me in the initial images posted.

The quality of the components are very nice and I really like the storage compartments under the bars.

My current Ducati of choice would be the Hypermotard.  I would have to test ride the 1100 and the 796 to figure out which one I would get.  That would be a fun day of test riding!

Was there something specific which made it not do it for you?

Just a note but...on my KTM 400EXC I have bar risers that came with my GPR steering damper.  I even still hunch over some when I'm standing and riding.  Its not a bad thing as it allows you to maintain weight on the front wheel for traction.

We may need to define what we mean my "hunch."   Lol

On the Multi, I would guess my torso was at least 135 degrees comparred to my legs.  I felt as if I were leaning too far over the front bars.  No other dual sport bike (small thumper or big trailie) felt that uncomfortable while standing on the pegs.

WTF? Geez!, get with the program! It was clearly stated in the initial release notes that the bars automagically rise when you select the enduro mode!

Ok, I'm just making shit up for fun...lol

Realistically I've found that it will make you feel like you hunching unless the bars are pretty high when then when sitting it'll feel like you are riding a tricycle.

Scouring the web-o-sphere for more Multi12 news today, I came up with this little tidbit. I wonder what they mean by Dealership launch? Does that mean they're delivering to dealers in March?..

The Carole Nash sponsored MCN London Motorcycle Show will feature the full Ducati range for 2010 on the Italian company’s stand.

The new Multistrada 1200 is sure to attract plenty of interest as riders increasingly switch away from sports machines and choose sporty, adventure styled bikes instead. The new Multistrada will have a UK-wide, Ducati dealership launch in March by the way....

Eastside Motorsports who was there for the display at the IMS in Seattle indicated they'll be getting their demos in March.  So yeah that's what I think it means.

^^ +1 ^^ ... Dealers get one for display and demos.  They usually bring in some 'Ducati Girls' and make a big hoopla event for a day to bring interested potential buyer in for look.

I too sat on it at the Cleveland show and fell in love. Felt like it was taylored to me. Real comfortable seat, great reach to the bars. I loved everything about it, but at $20 G's for the touring, it wont have me giving up my FJR for it. But the price is the only reason I wont have one. I really like that bike.

Honestly,  I'm 5'8"...  & due to the fact that it was bolted to the riser, with the rear tire about an inch off the ground.    I couldn't get a good feel for it.
