Because I already own a set of E21s, 2 sets of E41s, a V46 and an E52.  I'm in bed w/ Givi and have no interest in paying for another set of bags that are smaller and need different keys just cuz they might be "integrated" a little better.  I can't seem em when I'm riding anyway.  Well, that's not true.  They're so huge they often loom in my mirrors.  Wink

Sounds like you need to stop buying stuff.   Bigsmile

Anyhow my general issue with the generic Givi's is they often sit WAY too far from the bike.  I like the better integrated ones for this reason.  Yes I know...cost more money.   Its a trade off. Smile

The integrated bags, as mentioned, follow the curves of the bike and so blend in really nicely.  They will not stick out past the mirrors.
They actually look good on the bike.  Aftermarket bags will look like a goiter on this bike.

Seems a shame to spend all this $, and then spoil it at the last moment with Givis.

Ok Ladies and Gents, time to place your bets...

I'm going with March 5th for the first web-published journo review.

I'm betting (hoping) that the first reviews will still lavish praise in a "this bike is the shit!" sorta way. No doubt there will be a niggle or two thown in, but I'm betting no major dings (test bike electronics failures, etc.).

What say you?

Odd, multistrada.net doesn't seem to be cooperative with remote image hot links.   Headscratch

(snip)

Do you have to be a member there? I went to the pannier site and got thumbnails from users' galleries. The thumbnails included four of the pics, but never got to see the pannier bracket.

That dash is wild.

I like the dash photo.  All too often "gallery" shots don't include the view a rider will have.  In my opinion, that's the most important view.

As for the under-seat storage, I WISH my BMW and Harley had that.

Cool bike.

Let's see.  I wonder how much I could get by selling my KTMs*?

This Multi and a Yamaha WR250R would make for a most excellent garage.

I was thinking that with the old Multi and a WR250R. The new one is just so much more.  Inlove

15k (Multi 1200) and 26k (WR) valve intervals means a lot of riding. Mmmmm

I really like how the underseat storage is pretty "sealed" without little freaking places to loose things.

Plus there is storage up in the front fairing (I think if memory is right)

I think the MTS1200 has three settings for dash color/layout - additionally the rider can tweak those settings to fit his/her desired style of riding.

The older one can't be moisture proof as it's designed to vent to the atmosphere as some type of electronic fuel metering device is in it that needs access to ambient temps/air pressure, or something like that. Also, on the old Multi, like my ST3, there's no seal around the pin block where it comes out of the pod's back panel, so in fact you have two "vents" to let in mositure. Check the back of the panel on the new Multi for "vents", the one's used on the old Multi and ST's are round, and check where the pin block comes out of the rear panel, and if it's not sealed, the new Multi will condense moisture like the old ones by way of their design, and lack of sealing.  Smile
