I've been lucky with my dash - plenty of rain, no misting inside.

If you have time, can you check the back and see if there's a vent on the rear panel, and any sealing around the pin block? Mine's a 2005 model, which has been replaced twice, the 1st never broke down but did condense moisture, as did the second, which was ruined by the dealer during service, as does the third, ie they all condensed moisture. None had that "Ducati" logo on the front like yours, and all had grey A-B buttons.  Maybe your 620 2v engine does not use the same EFI system component in the pods as the ST3 engine and perhaps the TS 1000-1100DS engines as well, so it doesn't need to vent to atmosphere.

15,000 miles or FIVE YEARS for the belts. This engine is much less stressful on
components for various reasons. The service intervals and belt life are being
quoted for this bike ONLY, not the 1198. The rate of wear goes up exponentially
with RPM on all components. The Multi 12's valve seat material is a bit
different, the closing springs (helper springs) are much stronger, the ports are
smaller both intake and exhaust, and the cam timing is quite sedate.

My friends at Ducati who rode the bike in Bologna for training were suitably
impressed. Smile It was near freezing and wet when they took them out, they were
amazed at the difference in riding modes, going from "sport," to "urban" really
made the bike work in those conditions. The only thing that is limited in the
urban and enduro modes is how far the throttle blade gets to open, so you will
still have access to all of the engines torque, just not high rpm power. I
think that will open the eyes of many who think they need the big number to go
fast. The strategy for the opening of the throttle (remember ride by wire) is
very effective at making that big beast rideable in crap conditions. By strategy
I mean that it is not one to one, when you choose the riding mode, that strategy
changes. Once conditions improve and you have a long stretch of open terrain
and can switch it to sport or touring it is game over for any other open touring
machine.

It wont be long before you guys will be able to geek out on all of the features,
it is bad ass. You will be able to switch modes on the fly, with the LH
handlebar switches, but you will not be able to modify the ABS, Traction
Control, or Electronic suspension adjusters until the bike is at a complete
stop. Once you select a mode, you CAN adjust the individual parameters of that
mode. So say you go to sport mode, you can back off the Traction Control, turn
off the ABS(the ABS defaults to ON every time the bike is turned on), and adjust
the suspension settings. You just can't do it while riding. It will remember
your settings for each mode. I could go on and on. I can't wait.

Man, this thing makes Honda's new VFR seem outclassed..

Who are you quoting?

A dood who has inside info from the Yahoo Duc St site.  He used to be a head wrench at one of the major SoCal dealers, then worked for MotoCsyk (sp?)
If you join the Duc St group, you can read it.

Here's the official presentation video from the Lanzarote (Island of the Canaries) Launch. It's pretty much an all-combined version of the new vids on the Ducati site. I think there's a few somewhat different shots. Supposedly all shot on Lanzarote over the same roads the moto-journos will ride this week.
