Good Times Ducati/Honda/Kawi etc in Modesto, CA has zero orders for the MS12.

But I think this is because that dealership beeee-lows and so peeps who want one are going to other places.

Modesto Ducati? They gets rave reviews on BARF.

There are several threads like this one: http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317652&highlight=modesto+ducati

Nice of you to bash a dealer you don't know anything about.  Rolleyes

Ash review is up: http://www.ashonbikes.com/content/ducati-mts1200-multistrada-s

I think he likes it...

Quote
I’ll be adding more Multistrada features in the next few days, but as far as the riding experience is concerned – the most important aspect after all – this bike absolutely rocks. It’s searingly fast, laden with torque, handles superbly, the electronics not only work they’re extremely useful, it’s comfortable, characterful, beautifully made, and one of the most exciting motorcycles you can buy. If you’ve placed an order already… lucky you!

Translated Italian review. Still kinda hard to figure out exactly what they're saying even with the translation, but sometimes kinda fun to read...

"... In contrast, in this configuration the Multistrada unsheathes performance sports car with the pedigree.

MOTOR ESAGERATO Almost impossible to exploit the full potential motor road, the mids are always extremely important, but over the seven thousand rpm the Testastretta gallops furiously..."

I can't wait to unsheath some pedigree performance, and gallop furiously!  Lol

OUCH!  The press have ripped this one apart.

Literally -

http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2010/03/what-happens-when-you-crash-a.html

The damage? We're guessing that, if you bend the rear brake lever back, it'd be rideable, but that puddle underneath it is ominous. At a minimum, you'd be paying for a right pannier mount, new brake levers, a new exhaust collector and covers, clutch cover, bash plate, right side plastics, brush guard and bar end. Worst case scenario? A bent rear subframe and a holed sump. Ouch.

Update: Looks like the journalist in question was Costa Mouzouris from CMGOnline, he went down on a dirt road at around 85mph. He's fine, even if the bike's not.

Thanks for the update - I'm glad the rider is ok.

Those tires are not made for 85mph on dirt roads IMO, no matter if the suspension/mapping is in 'Enduro' mode.

Granted, I'm not a dirt rider.  Do people really ride 85mph on dirt when not chasing a trophy?

Which trophies? The real ones, or the delusions of grandeur ones? Smile

It can happen at any time to anybody. Intoxicating amounts of horespower and a belief that equipment/technology will keep you safe may promote reckless riding. But, IIRC, he's comes from dirt bike racing back ground too so he can probably ride well above the levels of most who'll buy this bike and keep it on pavement 95% of the time. Smile

Um.. I am positive that was not a crash at 85mph on a dirt road. It would either look like someone took a cheese grater to it, or it would have cartwheeled it self apart.

Maybe 85 KPH (ie: 52 mph).

I bet Ducati's marketing dept. wishes that picture hadn't made it to the interwebs...

Whether that is 50mph or 85mph off road...it crashed pretty well.
Just get a hose and clean er up...some zip ties and if that puddle isn't a big deal...fire her up and ride away...to do it again.   Lol

Yeah sure. Since your once $15K motorcycle has now been converted into a <$5K beater.

And even uglier yet...
