I was bummed that the seat height is still too tall for me to be comfortable, otherwise it looks good.
Low seat option: The lowered seat reduces height by 25mm and provides sure-footed confidence when fully loaded.

Sadly, I think that's still too tall for me.

o rly? now that you say that, the MTS12 might just be back on the lust-after list! I know what you mean about the Sprint...bought it even though I couldn't tip-toe it with the stock seat. Had the seat modded shortly thereafter and now all's good.
I shouldn't even be entertaining the idea of the Duc. Gotta make sure I never try to throw a leg over one, heh.

Are you trying to tip toe both toes at once? I learned when I had a R1150RT it didn't matter....one tip toe was enough.

Yeah, both sets of toes at once. I can touch down both at once now with the seat modded, but most of the time just plant the left foot down. When I first bought the Sprint, the only way I would have been able to tip toe both toes at once was if I'd spent some time on a medieval rack. Or a pair of Gene Simmons KISS platforms.

That is a good video! Concerning the release of a new bike in these bad times: I guess the CEO Ducati NA didn't want to mention that with their design/build cycle, they didn't see the recession coming at the early design stage, then had sunk too much money into the new bike to put it on hold when they were ready to build it. The timing aside, that is a great bike.

Timing may actually be in their favour. Ducati has taken many deposits for the bike, the press is (and public) is going nuts for it in anticipation AND the Japanese are not introducing anything new. Yeah, a 'slow' overweight gas guzzling VFR highlights the state of the industry.
If the economy was booming, this Duc may not have so much attention.

I think people who are prepared to spend $20+k on a motorcycle are people who are generally not affected as much by the recession as the people who are buying the $10k bike. Its a different demographic. So because of this you are seeing the deposits and people getting excited about this for the reasons atadaskew mentioned and they are able to do it due to their financial status.

Guarantee it, along with the "adventure box" manufacturers.

Why would you put ugly generic Givi's on this?

Because I already own a set of E21s, 2 sets of E41s, a V46 and an E52. I'm in bed w/ Givi and have no interest in paying for another set of bags that are smaller and need different keys just cuz they might be "integrated" a little better. I can't seem em when I'm riding anyway. Well, that's not true. They're so huge they often loom in my mirrors.
