My local dealership down the street are, well, surly...
All the other ones that I've been to in SoCal are extremely nice and friendly.  Guess where I did NOT buy my bike from!

At any rate, I'm moving to Wisconsin in a few weeks, and I hope the home of the brand has some nicer salespeople than I'm used to.

IIRC you're going to be in Madison?  Mischler's in Beaver Dam, H-D and BMW are great folk.  I know a fair number of people who have dealt regularly with the dealer in Parie du Sac.  Scharer's in Verona are good folk as well (Tri-Kaw-and maybe some other stuff by now)

Yeah, I just picked up a Triumph, so I'm going to be at Sharer's for my stuff.  They mentioned to me that they're going to try and become a Ducati dealership, which would be amazing...

Sharer's is a great place -- sorta kinda an anti-destination dealership, if that makes sense. It's a place to buy motorcycles, parts and accessories therefor, and to talk, wait for it, motorcycles. It wouldn't serve as the site of a first date, like a numberr of other dealershis seem to be trying to do.

Sharer's has a GREAT shop dog, as well, which is a bonus.

Team Triumph in Janesville (30/40 minutes south of Madison) is another great dealership . . .

Lyal Scharer had his first shop on Williamson St in Madison in the 60's.  It' where the original Slimey Cruds hung out.

Star motorcycles are on a par with Harley for appearances, though I think Harley uses thicker paint and clear coating.

I will say, Japan has never shipped anything the color of my big white Harley. It's called "White Gold Pearl" and it is just amazing.

I love my Venture and have no plans on getting rid of it, and I ndon't think the paint is that bad, but I do get annoyed at all the chromed plastic. And the cheap quality of the chrome on the mirrors. Not quite three years old, only garage kept and the back of the mirrors are starting to pit. May have to get some Kuryakyn mirrors for it.
