When pushed for answers concerning the possibility of wedging Aprilia's 550 V-twin into the legendary RS250 chassis, Aprilia's Motorcycle Product Manager, Francesco Polimeni, smiled and said with a heavy accent, "Yes. It is a beautiful engine. In fact, we have a prototype at the factory." Wow, so you put it in the RS250 chassis, right? "No. Actually, the RS125 chassis is, as you know, oversized and very robust. So we put the engine in that." Get out.

just my opinion, but the sporty, race bike styling is just for poseur value.

A 550 engine would serve best in a motard chassis, where you can get the most from flinging its lightweight frame thru the twisties.

race bike styling would only do any good if you plan on red lining it to it max speed.

A 550 vtwin?  Hum...I know of a couple of race classes that thing would COMPLETELY OWN!!!  


BTW: I know someone who stuffed that motor into a RS250 chassis already.  Maybe he was ahead of his time!
