At the bottom of the page in "Post New Thread" there's a check box labeled "Yes post a pole with this thread".   Check it and select the number of poll options.
 
Enter your title and message.  Click on Submit New Thread.  
 
Put in the title and options.   Submit and you're done.

My non-poll thread in this forum had a poll, but I decided to abort as it was rather mean-spirited.  I cancelled out and so the thread was posted sans poll despite cancelling during poll creation phase.  It included an all-encompassing categorization of the stupid polls that will again return to the new board.  
 
I turned the switch to off when my better judgement told me to.  Anything that is meant to be taken in jest can always go the other way.  Like this poll.  Sarcasm is hard to convey.  If you were being sarcastic, I understand the humor, but just don't find it that funny to post.  Like the evil poll I was putting up.

So you caught the Machiavellian attempt to scorn your specific post?  My lampoon has offended, and in a most crushing slight, "you don't find it that funny."  What can I say other than I am humiliated, humbled, and shamed.
