I'd really like to put Anakees or Distanzias on one of my bikes but for that bike the tires are radials and the current wheels require tubes. What's the rule on radials and tubes?

no problem. Radials will likely say "tubeless" on the sidewall, but you can run tubes just fine. My F800GS is setup like that from the factory.
