I  was looking at Scott's "What's Your Priority" poll and it looks like half the folks that go to these events like to have a liberal amount of socializing in between riding.  I am thinking it might be fun to have a topic where people can post interesting activities or events that might make a good excursion for a group of interested folks to ride to and participate in. It could be a scenic lunch spot or a day trip. Obviously at this date it's too early for commitments but not suggestions.  Since a lot of us are adventure seekers, I was thinking along the lines of Whitewater rafting or renting atvs and trail riding. Those seem like too far from Lewisburg from what little I know of the area.  A couple Links here to start looking.

Maybe some of our members who know the area will have ideas not readily available through Googling.  The National is far enough in the future that a lot of events coinciding time-wise will probably not be posted on-line yet. Stuff like day-hikes, lunch spots, sports, or cultural interests might have appeal for some of us to share.

Two hours and three posts later and this thread has gone on a tangent of a sexual nature. I'm shocked!  Rolleyes  Lol If I thought you were serious, I would suggest we have the next West Virginia meet here.     http://www.avalon-resort.info/site/Home.aspx  You could bring a naked bike there too!
This my have broader appeal though. Watts Roost Vineyard is in Lewisburg WV. http://www.wvcommerce.org/travel/travelplanner/listing/Watts-Roost-Vineyard/2801/default.aspx

The rafting is mainly around Hico or Fayetteville WV which is about an hour ride from Lewisburg. Most of the whitewater they advertise is in the fall when they lower the level of Summersville Lake. In June if is more like a float trip. The outfitters offer other activities such as horseback riding and hiking.
Beckley has a few things such as a coal mine tour and an outdoor theatre where they have different dramas.
More will come to me later.

My riding time will be at a premium this coming year. For the 2010 ESTN and National, I'm RIDING during the day, and drinking at night... and hanging out with some of you whackos! That's all I need in places where there are mountains and twisty roads.  Thumbsup

For all you adventure seekers, this is about an hour to an hour and a half away...
http://www.newrivergorgecanopytour.com/

For the not so adventurous they still give tours of the Bunker at the Greenbrier.
Also the new casino should be open by then.

No need, he's parked in a handicapped spot, so you can either outrun him (physically handicapped) or outwit him (mentally handicapped).  That IS an H-D, so I'm thinking a little slow in the pumpkin.   Twofinger
