Registration opened this morning. 19 riders have already signed up.

Wisconsin is a beautiful state. NSR 2010 is going there In Memory of Alyson Hiles Thillemann. Curt Gran, Bob Behn, Jeff Griffiths and I have put together the definitive tour of Wisconsin in her memory.

The 36-hour 2010 NSR starts exactly 65 days before the IB5000. First place wins one free solo or 2-up entry in Steve Chalmers' Ten 'N Ten rally.

Are they not still starting out of Cape Girardo Missouri?  I want to do this rally, but it is the week before the MN2010, not sure if I can swing back to back weekends with the wife, work schedule, or my sore butt.

Ah, grunt. I have a work related conference that weekend.

I keep hearing this is a great rally and I'll join you some year. Good luck to everyone.

I'm in for the Not Superman Rally. I'm Rider #3 and I'll be trying to finish well on my FZ6. I'll be doing some more mods (new seat, fuel cell) in preparation.

I'd like to add the Minnesota 2000, but I doubt I can get the time to do both.

It should be a blast!

Oh yes, the Not Superman Rally starts and ends in Cape Girardeau, MO.  The meat of the NSR will be in Wisconsin or very near Wisconsin.  The layout of the bonuses pretty much guarantees that no one will be doing a yoyo up and back.  I dare say you will never be on the same road twice except maybe a little jog in and out to pick up a bonus that only has one road going to it.

Awesome!! Although I live in Michigan, I've never ridden in Wisconsin. I'm looking forward to the challenge and meeting the other riders.

Realistically, I'm in it to finish it, but there's a small part of me that wants to shoot for a top finish. I've heard that most rally riders expect to finish much higher than they actually do. This makes sense because planning to do well is one thing, but pushing it after 20-30 hours on the road is another.

Cool,
I was hoping that it would start and end in WI.  Guess I will get to see the Boot Hill too.
Now my only problem is deciding if I can do both this and the MN2010.

Since I cannot ride in the Not Superman as I will have to remain at rally HQ in Cape, I am going to do the MN2K the very next weekend. I rode in the MN1K in 2008.

Found out we have a wedding the weekend of the MN2010 at the Lake of the Ozarks so I will be signing up for the Not Superman soon.  Too bad I have class and the wife has to work that week or we could spend it in Missouri after the rally.  Looking forward to meeting you guys.

I'm in.  Time to make some reservations in Cape Girardeau, MO and block off the time at work.

Made hotel reservation today, went ahead and made it for 3 nights so I can leave some stuff in the room Saturday.  Is this what most people do?

got the fuel cell mounted today, hope to try it out later this week- shooting for a 350 mile range, not sure how close I will get.  Also, started looking for a spot 2 tracker.  I haven't had any luck finding one in stock anywhere as they had a recall over the winter.  Anyone know where I can find one?

Funny you mentioned a fuel cell. Mine just shipped out today. I gotta keep up with the field! I'm adding 4-gallons, so on my bike that will give me a 400+ mile range. I doubt I could go more than 350 miles without stopping anyway.

I haven't been able to find a Spot 2 around here either. I'm planning to take advantage of the upgrade rebate that starts later this week (my subscription to Spot 1 service is about to end anyway).

Got the plumbing of the Aux cell done today.  Hoping to fill everything tomorrow and see how much fuel it can hold.

Nice! Looks great. You'll get plenty of range with that thing.

I'm STILL waiting on my tank. It should be here on Thursday. It was 60 degrees out today, I had most of the day free, I own two motorcycles, and neither runs right now.  Sad

Getting closer to rally ready

Going to the Twisty Butt ride in Arkansas this weekend so I should get a chance to try using up all of the fuel a few times to get a good idea on range and when to open the aux fuel valve and to try out the drink setup.  I used a cheap softsided cooler to make a fuel cell tankbag and have a friend sewing the bottom where I cut it off, hopefully that will hold a first aid kit and tire repair kit.

Anyone suggest a good source for routing instructions.  I use Garmin Mapsource, I know how to plot out a route (like when I take a trip and want to hit certain POIs or roads), but am unsure how I will add the bonus locations.  Will they be in longitude/latitude?  Why do people mark bonus locations different things(different color flags, different shape flags) Is this after they know the point values?  Ballpark number of bonus locations?  100, 1000, 10000?  In the week I have the bonus locations but no info about them, do people try to figure out what they are?  How do you search for what is at a location if all you have are Latitude/Longitude?   Thanks for any help or suggestions.  Josh
