Value of a used GZ250 with issues?

I have a 1999 GZ250 with ~6500 miles on it.  The body's in great shape with the exception of a few small rust spots on the handlebars and small scratches on the front fender.  It will need a new rear tire in the next 1,000 miles or so.  Here's the real issue...I parked it for the winter without treating the gas.  When I tried to start it up after sitting for 2 months, it was flooding gasoline out of the airbox.  After tearing down and cleaning the carb several times, I solved that problem.  I changed the oil as well and discovered that there was gasoline in the oil.  I changed the oil and started it up and heard the engine knocking.  I shut it down immediately and checked the oil again and discovered that there was gasoline in the oil again.  What are the odds that the gasoline in the oil the second time was residual gasoline from the original problem?  What is the bike worth now?  The owner of the local garage saw it in my yard and wants to buy it as soon as I decide on a price (he buys bikes and fixes them to sell).  It was the bike I learned to ride on and I have since moved up, so I have no use for it now.

Considering you can get one or one of its like in great shape for less than $2000, I would say you would be lucky to get $1000.  Set a price and see what the guy come back with.  Even sold cheap its better than sitting in your garage, continuing to decline and taking up space.
