This has got to be the most beautiful sportbike of 2010, especially in black and white R spec.  Check out the stainless steel muffler.  What makes this bike so stunning is the way the lines of the bike sweep back and up, making it look real sleek.  In addition, everything is in proportion.  I gotta hand it to Aprilia, they did a great job on this one.  It is a huge improvement over the RSV2, which had looks only a Tarantula spider could love!   Lol

Check out the profile view.  Wow!

That's it!

It's off my list!   Twofinger

Still beautiful everywhere else.  One thing about Italians, they are capable of blending function and form together.  Must be all those Capuccino breaks.

It's the only comment I could make and I needed to get at least one post in the Aprilia forum.

How would a naked RSV be a different bike than a Multistrada? Headscratch  I mean, do we really have to go through this?

No.  One can handle factory designed hard luggage, has easily electrically adjustable suspension that can instantly accomodate passenger and luggage changes (as well as 'terrain' changes), has a relatively comfy passenger seat.  Designed for 2 -up sport riding/touring.
The other is the Tuono.

I'm not talking about the Tuono dope.  The Tuono has a vtwin engine; the RSV has a V4 and is replacing the Tuono.  At least that's the rumor.

Be sure to tell anyone who buys a Multi it's not a streetfighter, it's a two-up touring machine. Rolleyes
You live by the magazine labels, huh? Lol

The Multistrada is not a dual purpose bike, btw.  It was never, ever intended by Ducati to go offroad.  It's stupid to discuss the pros and cons of a bike that hasn't been released yet (Tuono replacement).
And since you live by magazine descriptions, i'll bet you $700 the mags will immediately do a "Shootout" between the Multi and the Naked RSV (Assuming the RSV comes out).  Dope.

Probably won't have an "Electrically" controlled suspension though. Lol

Dope. Razz  You either get it or you don't.  Only you can explain how a naked RSV and this Multistrada are so different they can't be compared.  It's obvious to me. Shrug
You are ass-uming Rolleyes The RSV will not have luggage capability or the ability to carry a passenger.  Is this it for you?  If it does have the ability to carry luggage and a passenger, will it suddenly be comparable to the Multi? Headscratch
If Aprilia chooses to offer an "R" model it will have top shelf Ohlins.  Suddenly Ohlins isn't good enough to compare to the electronically controlled suspension on the Multi?  Anyone considering a Multi would be foolish not to at least take a look at a naked RSV, the same way those interested in the K1300S are looking at the VFR1200.

While I'm not holding my breath, I am wishing for an RSTV4-1000, or whatever they might name a future Futura.  Or maybe even an ETV4-1000.

Then we could properly compare them to the MTS, the new VFR, etc.

Word!   Lol

Even riding like my grandmother (if she was still alive and was into motorbikes) I pulled a nifty first gear wheelie when giving my 50 year old sister what might have been the first motorcycle ride of her life.   Crazy  Ooops.  Sorry, sis.   Lol

She took it rather well, considering.   Rolleyes

You know, after talking to you I went back and tried it on again.  It still didn't seem that small to me; yes, there's elbow/thigh overlap, but it's hardly any further than the Buell.  Of course, the Buell isn't huge, either, but still my impression wasn't that it was tiny.

One of the reasons I'm toying with the idea of getting a TL1000R when I get home is that its about the last "sportbike" made for a full sized Caucasian male. Pretty much everything after that in its own class (Ducs, RC-51, etc) and anything besides ST bikes have gotten smaller and smaller to where they look and feel like mini-bikes to me.

Thats progress I guess....
