And then in June I bought my VFR.  About double what I planned on paying, but my nephew is a tech at a MC shop and talked me into it (thankfully!).  So instead of riding a little on weekends I rode everywhere I could all week long.  My 120 mile round trip commute during the week became something I looked forward to!  I rode on December 1st! But...

But - now it's zero out, everything is caked in ice and snow and I'm pissed!  Every one of my previous 47 winters I was happy about the real coming of winter.  Cutting wood, doing chores - you know, all the Pa Ingalls stuff that helps pass the winter months. Getting ready for Christmas and New Years and eggnog and Tom N Jerry's.  But not this year - I'm grumpy.  I miss riding so much I'm thinking about relocating the family!

Here's the question: How do you pass these frozen, icy months without going crazy?

Never mind.  I see there is a very similar thread in the General section.  I'll cry over there!

I do it by riding. I don't go to the general area though. Its scary outside region 4.

Do what I do:

1. Update your bike with new Farkels
2. Do some maint. mods
3. Sit in your garage for long cold hours playing with your bike
4. Look at maps, and dream of where your gonna go in 2010
5. read ride reports, and surf the web
6. On 1/2 way decent days get out and ride

Hope this helps!

Get together with your motorcycle riding friends on a Saturday night. Slurp down lots of beer, and tell stories.

get out the angle grinder, welder, and some beer.  Make the bike different, try not to ruin it. Crazy  Attempting my first crack at carb tuning this winter, wish me luck.

Get a used bike off craigslist cheap, clean it up and get it running. Sell it in the spring and use the profit to make upgrades on your bike or pay for a nice bike trip.
