I was quoted $9100 OTD for a 2009 FZ1 here in California. That's including an 8.75% sales tax and a $180 registration. I calculate that as being $8184 + TTL. So in Georgia the same deal would be cheaper than that, but not by more than two to three hundred I'd imagine.

I would get the 07, actually.  You save some coin up front, and the bike is mechanically unchanged.  You might check the mileage on both bikes - maybe one of them has been used as a demo (Japanese demos... Lol)

PS you can probably get another $300 off that price, or ask for a new Shoei helmet to be included.

PPS I'm assuming the 09 isn't the Raven scheme (the blue is nice, but it's not Raven)

So, what did you decide?  Buy the newer FZ or keep the '01??

Food for thought...I just bought a used 2008 FZ1 from a dealer in Florida-2,900 miles & completely stock for $5500.
There are A LOT of Gen 2 FZ1s out there at really good prices.  Maybe keep the '01 and add a Gen 2.

Go for the leftover. They haven't changed anything but cosmetic details.

Dealer here in MN has a leftover '08 at a great price. I agree, look around and you might find a better deal.
