Top US custom builder Roland Sands Design has taken a long, hard look at the evergreen Harley Sportster, and put together a very sexy package of modifications. Here are the very first pictures of the RSD Café kit that will be on sale soon—a kit that’s designed to be affordable, so owners will be able to buy the parts in stages to spread the cost. The basics will include pipes (built by Vance and Hines), moto pegs, and a coil and key relocation bracket. Also on the list are wheels, some very slick brake discs, a new pulley and a fork brace. At the moment, the café seat, gauge/headlight relocation kit and velocity stack are still at the prototype stage, but they should be in production by mid 2010. The result looks stunning to our eyes—check the full set of images on our Facebook page—and there’s even more good news to come: in the New Year, RSD is turning the XR1200 into a fully functioning race bike that’s still street legal. Can’t wait to see that one.

I think it needs a 4LS front drum brake.

Boots? Definitely
Stockings? Sure why not.  Depends on what you mean by 'Gear' in ATGATT

I like it all except for the seat and rear fender.  That seat just looks needlessly obese.

Looks good, but there's a good reason for a debris deflector. Embarassment

I like the idea that peeps can by it in "stages." Very smart marketing in a bad and soon to possibly get worse economy.

I love it.  But I think a single seat with cowl would look better.  I wonder how much the kit would be if it's being called 'affordable.'

The exhaust is $780 at V&H, add another $560 for an air cleaner and fuel map. Clubman bars are about $80 shipped. $300 for Progressive shocks. About $400 for a seat. So around $2200 if you get the parts yourself...add an RSD premium for his kit  Bigsmile

I agree. A solo seat would look much better

Nice looking bike indeed -- after playing with hot-rodded sportie motors, the "air cleaner" is a first thing that has to go if you want the mill to work very well at all . . . . .

the Suspension needs some love (is there any travel in the fork at all?), but it's a nice starting point, for certain.

I didn't mind the seat.

AFAIK, the only Harley Sportster forks with factory gaitors are the lowered ones for the Nightsters and Customs.  Thumbsdown

No travel, harsh springing, bottoms out and tops out entirely too easily.
