Will they fit in an overhead compartment?  I'm flying a 737 tomorrow and thought the side bags would make for some awfully handy carry on luggage.

I doubt it. There is soft luggage that goes inside the H&B cases that might fit. I don't know if Buell/HD is offering that anymore however.

Side Case Interior Luggage
91825-08Y      $64.95

That price by the way is for two bags, which is a great deal.

Wayne, where did you find the soft luggage that cheap? That is what I asked for on my christmas list, but I'm pretty sure no body got it for me.

That's what I paid at my local dealer two years ago from my local HD dealer. Not sure if you can still get them, but:

http://www.chicagoharley.com/shop/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=91825-08Y&x=20&y=13

that's the side cases, for the top case use:

About $100 for all three bags.

Won't fit.  You can check them if you don't care about the finish though...  Embarassment

skipped on the cases, just grabbed my old boy scouts rubbermaid trunk and checked it.  i'm apparently VERY good at guessing weights.  49.5 in one bag, trunk came in at 47.8 (or somehwere in the neighborhood)
