Nah, just do the Nuke!   but I did like the newsprint...

My take on the newsprint:

I like the font itself, but I felt that since we were cannibalizing an existing sign, with an existing font, that it would best be portrayed with the original font. I feel that adding a different font to a familiar icon would be slightly "confusing" to the mind.

Therefore, unless anyone has any further objections (including this one), I'll get in contact with Peter for production prep. I presume that he'll proceed as he done in the past, which is to post the shirt on his website, where those who want it will order it individually.

Please note that he requested a minimum of shirts for a run. I think it was 30, but I'll check. Therefore, we'll have to have a commitment from quite a few so that he can proceed with production. I'll start up a new thread once he sets the parameters  Thumbsup

Any other thoughts this design???  Cool

Use the original font on the sign but the newsprint on the top & bottom text.   Just sayin'....  We could have prepay via paypal pick-up at the national for the minimum, maybe even a little cheaper.  Just sayin'....

No poll needed IMHO.  Your design is the perfect blend of what we have all been discussing in this thread.  Once the spelling is changed, do we simply send it to Peter?

I'll also need to send him the new STN logo to put on the front left.

I agree Doug ,go with it! DD I think there will be no problem getting 30 sold...... but I said that last year Embarassment
 Thanks for contacting Peter. Thumbsup

Ok, but I were to do that, then you'd have three fonts going on (sign, STN font and newsprint). Unless you're thinking of skipping the STN font? Three fonts on one piece is just too busy  Confused

I'm pretty sure that's what he means -- replace the stingray font with the newsprint stuff.

I like the stingray because it ties in with the site design. The newsprint font (whatever the name was) probably goes better with this design. I'm abstaining on any further votes, however, since I'm still in the "I don't get to go" camp.

I looked at the design again and I agree, STN font for the front and the lettering above and below the sign and leave the font the way it is for the sign, all with correct spelling.

Colleen emailed me so I'm checking into this thread. I was thinking that if we have enough time I could mock up several versions on different t-shirt colors and possibly some sweatshirts or hoodies. That way people can order what they want and we'll just run them all at once. As soon as I get art I'll get to work on mockups.

It's looking good Peter.

I looked for clean verions of the front logo.  They used to be posted in this thread...

http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php/topic,48626.0.html

I'll PM Jeff and ask him to send them to me.

Cheers.

OK, I just got the PM and see that Peter is doing the shirts. I thought Peter kinda disappeared, but since he hasn't, I'll not offer to do them.

I would however be happy to supply Peter with print ready artwork. I can take the existing design, add the logo, etc. Sending a JPG isn't the best file format for shirt printing.

Jeff

EDIT: I see that Peter already cleaned up the art. Duh - this is what I get for looking at this post at 1:30 am. I'll make sure the logo is good to go for print and send to Peter/Doug/Whoever.

Doug, Brier Inn has a catering service which is extremely reasonable for a buffet style meal. They also have decent banquet space.

FYI if not already aware.
