The Top Ten Things Not To Do While at Eel River Brewery.

10. Ask one of the wenches to marry you.

8.  Drop an NOD in the parking lot--bigger party foul if it's next to Gil's bike.  Bigsmile

Ooooh, the NOD. I heard about that NOD.

7. Engage Mr. Sunshine and greench440 in a conversation about SQL Server vs. Oracle.

Technically this happened at a different meet, but I'm never doing it again

I finally got the email list of "Do's and Don'ts" from the Eel River Brewery for our Saturday night get together.  I will post them here with no comment (meaning that I don't much like lists, rules or being lectured to...but this isn't about me...and btw they misspelled "canceled").  We were advised to especially to take notice of Rules #3 & 4.  Rolleyes

Please note:

    * To receive a full refund of the deposit amount, the event must be cancelled 14 days prior to the date of the event.  The last day this event can be cancelled to receive a full refund is ________________________ .
    * The number of guests confirmed 14 days prior to the date of the event is the minimum amount you will be charged for.  You will also be charged for any guests who attend over that amount.
    * No outside food or alcohol is allowed on Eel River Brewing Company’s premises, with the exception of cakes for special events (birthdays, weddings, etc).
    * No illegal substances are allowed on Eel River Brewing Company’s premises at any time.  If you are found to be in possession of any illegal substances, you will be asked to leave by management.
    * In accordance with the health code, no animals are allowed in the dining room or beer garden with the exception of service dogs.  All such service dogs must be clearly identified by a vest and/or accompanying paperwork.
    * If you would like to have the beer garden closed off to our other guests (for a private party) there will be an additional $500.00 rental fee required in addition to the deposit amount.   To receive a full refund of this rental fee, the event must be cancelled with 14 days prior notice.

 EEK!

Wow - that's not the Eel River I remember! What about the "bar cats" that would always hang around? And what's with the confirmation of number of guests?

Hmmm - I'm almost glad I won't be involved with these "rules"  Embarassment

So this means I can not bring my "services animal" spike (20' snake so as to smell my food -I have a smelling disorder) without papers  Bigsmile

OK so maybe the fermented and distilled sprites should be consumed outside of this establishment.

Next point (previously mentioned) If cats are spotted in the establishment grounds should we call the SPCA, the management or the board of health ??? maybe just shoot and skin them? OK maybe that is a bit extreme   I am at a loss on this one  Shrug

Dr Gill are you posting a deposit??? (if so maybe we need some donations)

Service dogs? That's very insulting to the wait-staff.  :pokestick:

Wow, just wow. I had a bad feeling about this year, and reading this confirms it. To think I was gonna ask the wife along this year.  Nuts

I'll still show as I've already got a room reserved and Subway is OK when I'm on the road, but it looks like the party is going to be restricted to the parking lot, any beer we can get at the convenience store next door and that Canadian rotgut that always shows up.

I'm unclear about this deposit thing, since I don't recall it mentioned in the past.  I hope they're not talking about anything more than a damage deposit, or tab skipping insurance, and not something like a per head fee to sit at the picnic tables out back?  How much is the deposit to sit inside at real tables with chairs?

At least according to rule 6 it would only cost $500 to keep HD and FJR riders out.  Might be worth it  Lol

For some reason I would worry a little about relying on a full blown parking lot party.   ERB might be tempted to call local enforcement to clamp down on the competition.

In today's economy they should be giving us discount pricing; not rules. Twofinger
I will not be blackmailed by any drinking establishement. I would not contribute to any minimum charges they insist on.
I say cancel any reservations at the Eel River BP now and we take out chances.

A good time can be had wherever one makes it and I don't think it will be at the Eel River BP this year.

It wouldn't be anything raucous and it would be on the other side of the motel building. ERB wouldn't even see it.

Sorry about the confusion.  No, no deposit was necessary.  And pretty much ignore everything else on the list.  While I am put off with its list of "rules" the brewery is still handy, has good food and brew and has a cute wait-staff.

We'll be okay.   Wink

Perhaps I you guys had behaved better last year, we wouldn't be in this mess.

I hate it when I miss all the fun, but still reap the benefits. Sad

All I can tell you  around 6pm most of us who were staying at the Super 8 were hanging out in front of someones room facing the ERBP.   Bigok
We were having such a good time no on noticed the time.
A guy (probalby the cook or manager and a waitress come over and tell us we had 6pm reservations and they are waiting for us , or words to that effect. So we went over. Thumbsdown

Once again, cancel  any and all reservations and we take our chances. I think once we cancel the reservations, they may change their tune.

I for one am happy with a suwaqy sandwich in lieu of fried ERBP food....

althought I do order off the seniors menu.

Two and tree years ago a fed of us went to the Indian Casino close by for the 2 for 1 dinner specials. you can't beat it.....maybe we should meet there. but they don't serve liquor as aI reall.
