My trusty steed...The ZZR1200

Ignore
« on: December 02, 2006, 12:23:42 AM »

Two and half years ago my son bought a Honda CBR 600 from STN member RicerX in the Seattle area.
Dantesdame rode the bike from the Seattle area to Eureka,

where a number of STNers met at Dr. Gils and the Honorable Beck-zuki's B&B&B for the handoff of the bike to Ramjet and myself. We had driven Ramjet's truck up to Eureka to load it up for the return trip to SoCal.

The festivities included a fine meal cooked up by the gracious host's with help from Jim the explorer (I can still smell the garlic).

The bike was enjoyed for two years by my oldest son and included a low speed crash on Latigo Canyon. Part of learning to ride. The bike served its purpose as a great first bike.

Well today completes the cycle (no pun intended) as the bike was sold. The new owner is getting the bike as a Christmas present from his parents, who picked the bike up tonight and trailered it to its new home in Santa Paula. This will be his 'first bike' and I wish him Godspeed on it and may it serve him as it did my son.

As a parent, I am thankful my son lived through his first bike, and grateful to those here who helped make it possible. You guys are the greatest!
Special thanks to Dante, Dr. Gil & Beck-zuki, Ramjet, and the explorer.

That was/is one lovely bike Shiz...sad to see it go but happy that it's going to a good home.  A person's first bike is aways something special. Inlove

Here's the awesomly named Beck-zuki astride the mighty beast from that weekend (note Napkin of Doom under front wheel...someone's idea of being funny).

...and from the same weekend, one of my favorite ever shots of our den other, Dantesdame, heading back up to Seattle on her slightly less beautiful VFR.

That is one HOT motorcycle mama indeed!

As for Lil' Shiz, he is saving his pennies...a lot of them...for a new car.  He is wanting a 530i BMW, even though now and then he speaks about a new GSX.

So we will see what he actually does.
