Mike Cammalleri scored the Montreal Canadiens 20,000th franchise goal in a game against my Sens last night. Amazing ...... who knew anyone was counting ?

Anyway,Mike will be an answer to a future trivia question .

That is amazing!

I wish a few of our players could get 10 in a year.  Lol

I think you now have two players in double digits for goals.

They are not scoring many points for their reluctance to pay  for dinner. Thumbsdown

Yes of course and to Mike Cammalleri . A terrific player and a great kid! As a teenager he would come and help out at my son's novice practices. A great role model for "smaller" players  .

Hey, a few of their contract bonuses are based on goals scored.  Lol

On the dinner story, the official Oilers side was that they had arranged to buy the bottles for the party, but the owner of the restaurant charged them by the shot. (It was just the alcohol bill that was in dispute, and in fact reduced by the owner).

The owner of the place's story had better be correct because having your NHL sanctioned restaurant on an NHL blacklist (and oh does this ever happen often), you can stand to loose a good deal of business. He would have been much wiser to keep his mouth shut, and talk to the GM the next day.

I can tell you many stories of well known NHL players miss behaving. (in fact I could have made a pile if TMZ was around back then). It is very common knowledge that in events like this, the owner or his staff, talk to no one but the GM. And your concerns will almost always go away. Player trashes the place? No problem, The damage gets paid for by the GM who will bill the player.

As an example, one team (who I won't mention) lost a do or die semi final playoff game here in Edmonton once, due to a very hard night out on the town the night before. The very well known coach of the team interviewed every player after the game about how much he had to drink that night, and then made a phone call to the owner of the club and had each story confirmed as best that was possible.

That bar remained one of the only official NHL bars in Edmonton until it's closure.

It is a very tight bunch, who want zero publicity. I would bet that place has seen its last bit of NHL business.

More on the story.

If it was the semi-finals, I know it wasn't the Sharks! *rimshot*

There are always 2 sides to the story in these disputes. Having seen the restaurateur on the news clips it is easier to see the players'  side now. What a putz. Thumbsdown

I liked hearing about the players' threatening gesture of saying " Do you know who we are ? ", and imagining them reaching into their suit pockets for a concealed...... hockey card. Lol I can only guess if a team from one of North America's 3 major sports got into such an incident it might end differently.
