Is out of business! Deming Cycle Center did my changes on the BMW when the rubber wore out. I have a brand new set on now but will need tires put on in a mo. or 2. I have a fresh set of PR2s with me. Any of you NM inmates know of a good shop or place in Las Cruces, Silver Cty- Deming area? Thanks....

get the stuff you need and do it yourself. If you can change the oil, or pull the wheel off you can change out the tire..

all the stuff should pay for itself after only two or three times.

Thanks Stinky.... I have a tire changing outfit...2000 miles away in Michigan! I live in an RV and have no access to a garage situation until I return home in May. So I need a shop . At home I change all my own.

Stinky... The very changer that I have at home as well as their balancer. I don't want to buy another one. I believe that the front will be OK and I will just be looking at an OTB Rear only change to a fresh PR2 in about 1.5 mos.  The shop here in Deming was good ,fast and reasonable for changes. I was not expecting them to fold. I would pay good $$ to get it changed by someone that knows how nearby. Thanks for your efforts. At home this is a no-brainer. Out here on the road, a hassle.

You need someone who can not just change a motorcycle tire, but someone who can change a B M W motorcycle tire.  It's all part of the character.  WBill

The tire has 4500 on it now and I estimate it will be gone in about 2 mos....about 6500 miles total. Nothing magic about a K bike wheel. In fact it has no bearings that stay with the wheel and is easier to change a tire on than most. The Honda -Yamaha dealer in Deming did it several times.

Thanks to all who replied. I got it put on in Tucson at the Cycle Gear shop in Grant-Stone Plaza. Reasonable $35 on/off price and done correctly. A nice little shop with people who actually know motorcycles for those of you who live in the area.

WOW! You were literally around the corner from Iron Horse Motorcycles. Nice family owned B.M.W. dealership, with an excellent reputation.

That Iron Horse shop burned my buddy for $110 for a set of R100 BMW brake pads the day before! I was hardly going to give them a second chance to burn me too. They are also more like 5 miles away.

Ouch! I am sorry to hear that. If that was for a set of O.E.M. pads, it isn't too far out of line. I have dealt with them before, and would rather travel down to them from where I am, than give Victory B.M.W. (RideNow Powersports bastards), or that GoAz (that Go Daddy putz) in Scottsdale any business. And come on now, 5 miles...That's not a valid argument  Lol

I used to sell some shop consumables to the Cycle Gear you dealt with. I understand they are pretty square shooters  Thumbsup

roadthing....ALL BMW PARTS are OUT-OF-LINE! $110 for 4 quarter sized front brake pads! My buddy only gave me $70 and thought that was "plenty". It should have been that's for sure. Cycle Gear never batted an eye though when I told them it was a BMW K-bike wheel and tire that I wanted changed...and I did not buy the PR2 from them either. Great service. At pick-up I told them about Iron Horse and the brake pads. If they had the right SBS pads in stock right then they would have been $38 for the R-100. What a rip-off BMW parts are.

I've had good dealings with Iron Horse as well.  I just bought an exhaust from them for my VFR.  Sent them an email asking what price they could do on a Remus exhaust so I could spend my money locally rather than order it from out of state.  There price was WAY lower, even with tax, than I could find anywhere.  For service or BMW parts they are probably not cheap but that's what you get with a BMW.

swimmer...CycleGear will match any price on a part from anyone else provided that they can verify your price online. I know you must not have tried them first. Give them a try. Their prices are very good and they all ride ....and a variety of stuff like sportbikes, dirt, DS and know what they are talking about.
