Vote for the weekend that you believe that you can attend, and if you want to camp or motel/hotel.    The general plan is for a weekend in July.

The area would be in the north western part of the lower Michigan.  IMHO this is the best riding in the state of Michigan.

Once the poll runs for a while, I will start making the arrangements.  So vote on and I will start searching for the perfect spot.  If you know a good spot that can host us, do not be afraid to chime in.

Thanks

If just half of the Michigan riders that normally show up for a lunch ride in come to this, it will be a riot.  I as funny and crazy as it get at lunch, I can only imagine what it will be like after a day of riding sitting around a fire or a grill.

I am interested in a R4 meet in Michigan.

Your Michigan R4 contingent is large and active.  Many of us would benefit from meeting, as well as from riding together.

I am curious to see what kind of roads are available to enjoy in Michigan.

While I am not "tired" of WI as an R4 location, some are.  It would only seem proper to mix it up and choose a different (or additional) location once in a while.  For example, Ohio seems to have many good roads, but seems to lack the 50-75 member-strong showing I notice that participate in Michigan.

I am nobody.  I merely attempted to provide a bit of organization to last year's R4 meet.  I certainly will continue this role at future meets provided I am familiar with the area.  The fact that so much enthusiasm appears to exist for hosting a weekend R4 meet in Michigan suggests to me that it is a good idea.  The July dates may actually put my attendence in jeopardy, which would be regrettable.    Let's see how the poll plays out.

Change can be good, right?

Kris

FWIW, I've had great enjoyment out of camping at Cycle-Moore in Interlochen.  IIRC, there's a motel right across the street.  Yup, it's http://www.camelot-inn.com/

The motel is located kitty corner from the campground.

Bath facilities are excellent at C-M.  If given some advance notice, they will set aside a camping section just for us.

Disclaimer: this is just a suggestion.  Ted is going to actually pick the lodging and I'll stay wherever the group goes.

It just a reason to get together and ride the area.  Most of us will be camping and doing the sport touring boogie during the day.  Evenings will be adult beverages in moderation and massive campfires, along with swapping lies and tall tales.  Come along, we have lots of fun.  Arrive Friday and stay til Sunday afternoon or use your own schedule for getting and going.

Welcome!

You will find that R4 has some mighty fine people, and some that even ride motorcycles. Smile  So join on in and start having fun.  The camping thing will be a ball.  I have met many of them at one time or another for lunch and always had a good time.  I suspect that a night or two around a camp fire telling lies or half truths will be down right silly fun.

I have not had a new car since 1992, but I have had some awesome streetbikes, dirtbikes, ATVs,  and been on some great vacations. I am learning to understand the Jeep thing.  Already found a use for a 10,000 pound winch.   Ironbutt Member #37488

FWIW, I've had great enjoyment out of camping at Cycle-Moore in Interlochen.  IIRC, there's a motel right across the street.  Yup, it's http://www.camelot-inn.com/

The motel is located kitty corner from the campground.

Looks expensive...  anything cheaper close by?
