I would bet against you making it across the border.   Money orders are inexpensive ya cheap Yank  S O B

Even if the border doesn't catch you, if you get stopped for anything,  you'll be taken to jail where you MIGHT be allowed to pay the fine plus assorted penalties.

 Lol

I called the RCMP before my last visit, they have no record of it.

I'm tell'in ya, Yanks don't have to pay...   Twofinger

Well that would depend on if I sent "certain photos" of you to Canada customs, with the warning you were hoping to cross.   Of course those photos could convienantly be lost in a drunken haze,   if only I had the money or a couple bottles of Bourban Whiskey Rolleyes Rolleyes...

Pentiction is a sleepy little town,  you'd fit in.

To some of us Penticton is the big city...and after fighting traffic driving to Van and back for the Muse concert last night, I am happy that Penticton is the size it is. Keremeos has around 1300 people, and Pen is 25 times that size, so it's always going to be the big happening place to those of us around here.
Heck, Penticton even has stuff that is open 24 hours! What a concept! Our restaurants are closed by 8:30 and the last gas station/convenience store is done at 11:00. After that youhave to go in to the big city  Wink

Rick I'm still a maybe at this point, I have another 12 day adventure in the planning stages right now. How many days were you taking for this trip?

Hey Jim I pulled the trigger and I will be coming this year with a New Norge.  $11200 US I have to go to NH to pick it up but hey thats what bikes are for isn't it.

W00t!  Company for +1's Breva 750.  Just installed the luggage, so he can long-haul all of the camping gear and I'll bring the Monster.  Bigsmile

We're mailing off our passports for renewal this week, and after futzing back and forth with Progressive, the Canadian insurance cards are all set.

Speaking of which,  are we going to need a tow/rescue vehicle this year then?    You know,  two or more Italians there, and the problems start reproduce exponentially.   Crazy

We had more than one of those upstart newcomer Italian brands there a couple years ago, and at least one last year, what do they call those things, Duprilla Cagustanelli or something like that?

Whatever they were (besides red), they are nowhere near as solid and reliable as a Moto Guzzi and they didn't need rescue.

Rescue vehicle for an Italian bike?  I thought that's what KLRs were for.  Headscratch Lol

We may bring Ducati's just to add to the overall Italian content, or we may bring the little motards and play on the trails.  We haven't decided yet.  If we bring motards then we'll have the sprinter available for any rescue work.

For anyone interested...came across an ad for this event on the weekend following the BBB: the "Motorcycle Rally for Travellers," touted as "An informative rally for all you need to know to travel the world by motorcycle."  It is hosted at the Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground--I know that Horizons Unlimited has had rallys at Toad Rock as well, dunno if there is any connection here.  Anyway, for what it's worth: :  http://www.mrtcanada.ca/.

This is not the Horizons Unlimited Meet. I think these ones are organised by a dealer from Calgary (if I am remembering correctly). The official "Horizons Unlimited Travellers Ninth Annual Western Canada Meeting" is in Nakusp, BC, August 12-15, 2010.
The page with the details is here:
  http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/meetings/CanWest2010.php
I am planning to be in Nakusp for that one.

I just had to bail out of the trip I'd hoped for this weekend (WCRM).

This may be the only thing to look forward to (riding wise) this summer.    Can't wait.

I'm out

Decided we will fly to Vegas ( 3 comped nights at The Mirage two nights at Mandalay Bay.)

Then fly up to Calgary - spend a week with our daughter in Canmore ( Have three nights booked at the Banff Springs hotel) Then we will hike up a mtn in Kananaskis and remain there for 3 nights at a remote cabin only used by Conservation Officers.

Our CO is working out details to have supplies dropped in by helicopter  - after all beer is heavy lol-  life is good Cool

So have a good time ride safe - If this annual is still on in two years I'll mark it on the calender, for I'll be ready to do an epic ride west agian.I doubt next year will be possible we are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and wifey has plans  - that don't involve a motorcycle trip  damn!
