A B&B for €78 per night with a continental breakfast!  EEK!

Sorry bud, but come on...we're in Europe, not in the overpriced UK

I want a room for the night, I don't want to buy the place!

Guess I stayed in the wrong places cause mine were from €70-€125 a night.

I agree that 78 euros / night (room) is very steep and for a one night stand forget it. But looking at the cost for 3 or 5 days for well appointed room, breakfast, 4 course dinner (if its good!) plus beer and wine it's not a too bad a price overall. I don't like spending more than I have to, then again I don't like sleeping in rat holes or being uncomfortable even if if I'm only paying 25 Euros. On top of that, dinner is at least another 10-15 Euros in that area and you can add another 10-15 on beer and vino. It all adds up... I reckon 50 - 60 Euros minimum / night is about right for a decent place to stay, good food and drink. So 70 Euros / night all inclusive with secure parking is not far over the top.

Still, it is Spain and remote Spain at that = this is reasonably expensive for the area, but probably better than the lads from England experienced in some places on their Pyrenesse venture - http://www.bbot.co.uk

The cost includes a bike tour of the areas too. Not that I'd use it, but... maybe... why not? It's always a consideration for this summer's ride.

Cheers,

Note

Well you Microsoft guys are all loaded.  Lol

The B&Bs I stay in while touring the Alps run me between €20 and  €32 with one hell of a breakfast...not some continental breakfast. And at that, they are extremely nice, well equipped and clean and with a private bath. For up to €42, I get breakfast and dinner. (2008 prices)

The only place I paid too much was on Corsica...wouldn't you know it...part of France. What is it about France? You pay more, get less and the majority of those in the tourist business think they are doing you a favour.  Twofinger

Thank you for your comments regarding the price  Thumbsup, as a result we have done further research and have now revised our prices to be more competitive, giving fellow bikers a better deal.

Regards, Phil   Smile
