Misano info?
«
on:

The wife and I are planning a trip to Germany and Italy this year, with two potential timeframes. The first one, mid-June to early July, presents the option of a jaunt over to Misano to catch the WSBK round. We'll be staying in the Florence area primarily.
Info I'm soliciting at this point: Any pointers on getting to the track (in the immediate area, I can figure out how to get there from Florence on my own
)? Tips on where to sit? Stay for the weekend, or just go on Sunday race day? Recommendations on whether or not to even attempt it?
Thanks in advance for any input.

I have no race-going experience in Europe, although I asked a friend about going to the Mugello GP.
He said it took him 2 hours to leave the track, and that was on a motorcycle, so I would guess you can expect some race traffic
Edelweiss tours uses
Villa Pitiana
east of Florence.
I stayed at
Villa Il Poggiale
south of Florence.

Appreciate the input, Orson. Somehow, I knew you'd be one of the first!
That Villa Il Poggiale looks gorgeous, but a bit too rich for our wallets. We'll be renting a place in Florence for a couple of weeks, and traveling the region from there.
I was wondering more if we should just overnight closer to the track or risk the early drive into Misano on Sunday (or even try public transit?). As I understand it, it's 2-3 hours drive from Florence to the track (I'm assuming that's in optimum circumstances). We'll have a rental car for a bit of the time.

You might try posting over on the British-centric Visor down forum.
There's probably a few Brits who have made the trek to Misano.

I've been to Misano, but to attend World Ducati Week, not for racing. There were a lot of people there, but I had no problems getting in and out of the track on the two days I attended. The Adriatic coast there is flat and one beach town after the other, sort of like the Jersey Shore. Not surprisingly, it's one of my least favorite parts of Italy. But, there are lots of hotels. I stayed in Riccione, a short ride from the track, at a nice hotel, the Milano Helvetia at high season rates.
