1 vote for moving it.

1 vote for changing the date.
Why not make it a psudo 3 day weekend of Fri noon to Monday noon and expect (and allow) for people to arrive and depart as their schedule permits?

What we need is for someone to just take charge of this years R4 Meet 2010. Pick a place and time and be done with it. Those that can make it will, those that can't won't. Pretty simple.

To Viroqua, Wi.  SURE

there are 3 motels. PICK ONE

Several restaurants here and in Westby 7 miles to the north. One of them is Borgen's Cafe.  SOUNDS LIKE A WINNER

I can probably coordinate some entertainment, too. SWEET

Feedback?SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN. WHEN YOU GOING TO CALL IT?

Just trying to get the ball rolling on the R4 Meet 2010. Hope this works  Thumbsup

OK. Gimme a few days, I'll contact the motels. There are two new restaurants in the area, too.

Sweet.  Make sure some of the entertainment includes a run through Coon Valley. Thumbsup

OK. There are two weekends available. The local Viroqua Motels (all 3 of 'em) have rooms availble for both LDW and the weekend after. I'll make the decision as to which weekend this Wednesday evening July 14.

Pros & Cons:
LDW Pros- it's a 3 day for most. No local events to take up motel space. (Probably) free entertainment from a band doing a reunion gig on Saturday night.
LDW Cons- Traffic. Having to stop for local parades enroute. I'm on call all weekend, and so couldn't lead any but the most local of rides.

LDW + 1 Pros- Minimal traffic during that lull between LDW and the leaves turning. No local events to take up motel space.
Cons: It's a garden-variety 2 day weekend. Riders will probably miss the first pro football games of the year. Each day will be about 20 minutes shorter than on LDW.

Reply b/w now and 1900 on Wednesday night, and based on estimated head count I'll see about a block discount at one of the local motels and post the edict then.

Either one will work for me.  LDW being preferable.
