motociclismo.it appears to have leaked pictures of the new 2010 Yamaha FZ8.  It looks more evolutionary than revolutionary, borrowing heavily from the FZ6 and FZ1 designs with adopted USD forks and 800cc.  Surely this will be another great midsized tourer, I just hope they sorted out the wonky clutch engagement like early model FZ6s.

Doesn't seem like any manufacturer can keep things under wrap these days.

You can see more images of the new FZ8 here.

Meh, it's pretty, bu it looks just like everything else right now, the Fz1, z1000, among others. I used to think my Bandit 1250s was bland, but at least it doesn't look identical to all the other standards. Not that it really matters because I bought it for that stump puller motor.  Inlove

Pfft.  A sport tourer should be able to wheelie in 5th gear.  This thing sucks  Bigok

Yeah, I really don't see what the appeal would be either. An FZ8 really can't be that much lighter than the FZ1 can it?

A bit of a B-King look to the front.  I vote they bring back an updated version fo the Radian in a 750 size.

Yamasaki???

Thats what I was thinking. It looks very much like the Kawi Z750s that was only in the states in 2005 & 2006. I still doubt this one will come to the state at all. You know.....everyone here on this side of the pond just wants a Harley.

It's not just that. The MFGs hear "us" when "we" say things like "great bike... I'll pick one up used in 3-4 years". I don't blame them. It's a hard spot to try to sell stuff to such a hostile market.

The blue FZ8 looks sharp...except for the flat black can.  I see that manufacturers are still "exhaust challenged."

On the Italian site, there are pics in the gallery with it having an upper fairing ala the previous gen. Perhaps they will offer a 'sport-touring' edition?

As to 'why?'-- I like a bike with a more upright seating position. I seriously looked at the FZ1 in '03, loved the bumblebee paint scheme, but after a test ride decided I loved the Strom's big v-twin more.

I agree but would really prefer a big old round headlight.  the new BMW or MV style is good.

Nice looking bike!  I especially like how they've designed the headers to bend forward, occupying more space between the wheel and motor - similar to a chin fairing.  Very cool.

That looks 1000 times better than the stock can on the Concours.

I wonder if they put the crossplane crankshaft in this... if so it could be the perfect engine for a mid-sized sport-tourer.
