That'd definitely be a cool piece of history to add to the garage.  Thumbsup

The wheels are definitely incorrect.  The engine cases, etc should be blacked out, not polished.  Incorrect air cleaner.  Doesn't mean it's not an XLCR, but if so, it's one that will need some $$$ to get it "correct".

Which would explain the price, why he is still trying to source the gauges, the seat etc...

I don't know a whole lot about them but it was HD's attempt to build a legit cafe racer. 1000cc engine, low bars, rear set pegs, less weight, attractive black-out treatment, steel wheels, sleek looks (special tail, tank & fairing) and, I believe, different geometry than the standard Sportster. Some were raced. I was only 13 when the bike was introduced and still thought cars were cool ( Crazy )  so I only know about the XLCR through magazine articles. I think they look great.

Anyone care to fill in the blanks on the XLCR history?

Standard Sportster dressed up in some very cool looking sheet metal.Limited production, very limited. The engine was hot rodded a bit,the exhaust is what made the biggest difference. The subject of the original post may or may not be an XLCR I'd have to see the title/V.I.N.Just a neat bike there aren't many of.
KnobJockey..........oh I mean ConPilot wants a Harley caause he think it'll get him laid. Why else would you venture in here?Give it up you can't get laid in a whorehouse with a 12 inch dick and a winning Powerball ticket.

The engine was blacked out on the XLCR.It's not on the original posted bike.I'd wanna see the title and V.I.N. to be sure but it doesn't look good. The XLCR sheet metal is available aftermarket. The fairing doesn't look OEM to me either and I was working in a Dealership in '79 and we still had one on the floor. They weren't real popular then.

If I had a 12 inch dick and a winning Powerball ticket, I'd go buy me a Harley, take a ride up your way,
park the bike on the street in front of your house, wave my 12 inch dick and the Powerball ticket at you,
set the bike on fire, and then piss on it to put it out.  Twofinger Twofinger Twofinger
