Ooo, I was down there once to rent a car.   EEK!

It's not that bad.    I have the courthouse on one side of me, and the police building on the other.

Other than the shooting in front of the police station as I stepped out the front door, and the 2 or 3 armed robberies right outside the door of my building it's really safe.

Oh, I almost forgot about the rabid racoon that has been attacking folks at night  Lol

I guess it is scenic.

LOL @ the Amish weather radar image!

8" - 15" of snow coming my way according to Accuweather.com.

I was one of those people earlier today...  You know, the ones that go to the grocery store the day before a major storm.  Sue me, we needed groceries.

And I bought bread!  Lol  But not  milk and eggs -- we have plenty of that.

With an inch of snow down, the mechanic finished fixing my snow blower an hour ago.  Wooooot!!! Driving home I saw people going sideways, and I barely made it up my drive in 4wd low.  Now I am set for old man winter.

Got the cars and bikes in the garage, Dan and I have our cell phones handy to receive the "Don't come to work" messages we're expecting in the morning and the cats are comfy.

Oh, and we have plenty of eggs, milk and bread  Banana

Wife got that message by e-mail around 12:30 pm today.

I have a Suncast Big Scoop that's normally awesome for snow removal:

http://www.amazon.com/Suncast-SF1850-22-Inch-Scoop-Shovel/dp/B000A1CENK/

But since the snow that I shoveled last Saturday hasn't melted enough, I won't be able to lift a scoopful of snow up high enough to get over the mounds of snow that line my driveway, so I had to break down and buy a traditional shovel.

My driveway is the size of three cars, so a snowblower would be overkill (and no garage to put it in).

Finally got home from work at 7 tonight.  No snow.   Went out for groceries (yes, I am one of those people too, but we did need them) at 7:30 and it was snowing like heck.

Just took the mutt for a walk and we already have a few inches on the ground.  I will say my prayers tonight that DE declared a "state of emergency" so I don't have to drive all the way down there tomorrow.

Oh joy.   Rolleyes   My Hill of Terror just claimed another victim.  Some idiot in a blinged-out rear-wheel drive pickup truck, reeking of alcohol, just abandoned his effort to make it up the hill and left his truck sitting in the road; walking away claiming he's going to summon a tow truck though he declined the offer of the use of my cell phone.

He first tried to back it up in my driveway and park it there (based on his equally reeking passenger's advice), before I walked out and advised them there was no way their truck was going to block my AWD.   They had no interest in the snow shovel I offered them either.  Now the city snow plow can't get through until his truck's towed.

Day before yesterday it was a car full of latinos in a thoroughly trashed Jetta.  I wound up evicting them from the car and driving it up the damned hill myself.

Call the county.  They will schedule a tow BEFORE the plow gets stuck.  Some F'er left their BMW 5 series in our driveway.  The BossLady called the cops on him.  I told her to put bucket on it and shove it across the road into the snow bank.  Angry3

Well although this storm is far from over, and the total inch wise isn't going to be as high, for me its worse. It decided to be freezing rain for a couple of hours last eveing, so I have ice under about 6 to 8 inches of snow, and its still snowing.AHHHH I love winter. Crazy
I tried to drive to work, managed to bury my car in a snowbank, because I didn't realize there was iceunder the snow,it just went, sideways, while I was totally stopped due to the small amount of slope, then my fooking idiot manager (who isn't coming to work today) calls me from home after he checks his phone messages at work....and bitches me out for not making it in. I told hiim to go F**k himself .Guess I'll see if I work there or will get a "write up" tomorrow,in truth I no longer care.I know how to make money, bloody asshat.

Dan and I got our morning "Enjoy the snow day!" calls from work. We're sitting around watching big fat flakes fall thickly from the sky. Overnight snowfall was about 2", but I can see that's about to change very quickly  Bigok

Just shy of a foot or so here, but as I'm told by a co-worker (PVS here on ST.N) who was in very early..

"Right now the major roads in DE are slushy, they have been salted and
plowed and are passable.  The last I heard, they're predicting the temps
to drop in the next three hours and the conditions to deteriorate.  If
you aren't here by ten, you probably won't be. "

So here I sit... awaiting a plow and the gumption to go shovel and snow-blow. Methinks it's a work-at-home day.
