First I was all    then I was all  Banana   then I was like  Angry3

DE declared their emergency.  I got my Snowday!

Then my boss called and asked me to work from home.

I told her that after my driveway was clear I would, but that came first.

The snow we are getting is very wet and heavy.  Not sure my wimpy 2 stroke single state snow thrower is going to do the job which means plenty of shovel time for me.   And it's still coming down.

Everyone be safe.  Stay home if you can.   Make a snowman.

Ok, I'm off to make french toast before I start shoveling.

Methinks it's a work-at-home day.

I made that call about an hour ago. We only had about 5 new inches overnight, but it's still coming down at a pretty good clip.

Of course, I can't exactly say I'm working right at this moment...     Wink    But at least I've got the stuff laid out on the desk and I've started on it.

Dan and I were just discussing whether we should get the shovel out of the garage or wait and see if one of the "four local neighbors with snowblowers" gets to the sidewalk first  Bigsmile

Well, last night around 11 truckdriveridiot didn't come back with a tow truck - instead he came back with his daddy, who climbed into the drivers seat and proceeded to mash the accelerator to the floor and spin the rear wheels ineffectively for a solid minute while he and junior exchanged shouted insults at one another.   It was like the Teutuls On Ice.  That thar pickup's dug in nice and deep now.  Mad2

I received a link to this site from my older brother just now, which kinda gives some perspective:

Well after digging out more times than I care to think about over the past three years my boredom got the better of me.  I decided to build a Ghetto-Fab snow plow for the front of my garden tractor.  I've got about $10.00 wrapped up in this project, so if it lasts more than 20 minutes I'll be pleased.  If I can ever find a job I think I'll finally spring for an actual plow, but who knows.  I guess I'm actually a glutton for punishment.  I was push mowing 2.5 acres with a 20 inch walk behind mower before buying this beast, and that was only because the mower's engine blew up.

Not shoveling - sledding. Shoveling is work.

Best decision I ever made! Ford F350 4x4 dieselly goodness! Yes sir!  Inlove
Bought it two years ago to pull the travel trailer and now I'm loving it even more! If I didn't have to eventually get the wife's car out, I'd just wait for springtime to melt the driveway and never pick up a shovel again. The only problem is now there is no excuse to miss work. I went through snow up to my running boards last weekend without as much as a single wheel slip! Woo hoo!
.......I might add that the novelty of snow has worn off. That's the whole reason I could never live any farther north than VA. I don't know how you northerners can take months of this stuff. Maybe that's why y'all always seem grumpy to us southerners! Bigsmile

Just saw on the TV that Pepco, DC and Montgomery Co. have suspended their repair and snow plowing ops due to the blizzard.

Lol Lol  Nice job Cablebandit - even painted to match!

My Snapper snowblower, despite a carb rebuild, is still cutting out.  My 7-year old volunteered to be the snowblower, so I wheelbarrowed him while he ate snow, but the going was pretty slow.

Now the snow is falling sideways, and we are entering the blizzard state.  The news says we are beating upstate NY in snowfall amount this year; somehow I'm not very excited by this accomplishment.  Nice link, Scratch!  Crazy

If you were Amish, you'd have 13 kids to shovel the snow, no need for a snowblower.

No snow days for those of us who walk or take an underground train to work.

Mostly freezing rain here in NYC anyhow.  Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few hours.  I blame the device and not my shaky hand for the blurry pic.
