So anyone still want to meet for coffee at the LeGrange café?
I'm going to be there around 11am if your interested.
Will I be in a cage or on 2 wheels? I guess you'll have to show up to find out

Defintely not on the bike, but I just might cage it. The roads were still spotty today, but I was out early. The sun and salt seemed to be doing their job though.

Probably not for me, working overnight tonight. Riding on iffy roads on no sleep, and on my touring bike (That needs breaks and a head bearing) doesn't sound all that great.
Beemer comes back next week, tho:banana:

Weather tomorrow only calls for scattered flurries, mostly dry. I'm riding unless it dumps tomorrow.
Anybody got the address?

side streets pretty much suck around here, lots of ice. I'm still thinking bike, but the truck it may be. Either way I'll be there.
this don't bother me
but this does
I don't think it would be wise for me to try the bike, that ice covers the rest of the streets in my neighborhood. So I'll be in the slow red truck

That's about how mine look too. Took the connie for a spin in it, held up better than I thought it would. Since the deli's on Rt. 12, which should be pretty heavily salted.

Snow? No big deal.
Cold? Pshaw.
But waking up EARLY and leaving on time, taking care of all the little stuff the night before? That's crazy talk!
Sorry I missed you guys today. A flat tire and a stop at Home Depot to replenish my hand warmer stock on the way meant that I didn't even get to the WI border until 11am. I figured by the time I covered the extra 60-70 miles to LaGrange, you'd already be out of there, so I stopped at Dilar's in Richmond for lunch instead. One of these days I'm going to post "I'll be there" and actually freakin' show up!
On the lighter side, roads were great today, very clear, although I got more than a few
looks from the cagers going Christmas shopping. Definitely a good day for a ride.

Here is a pic of what I brought with me to coffee -
I brought my ramps and wheel chock incase someone showed up completely frozen and unable to ride home. I was prepared to give someone a lift home. haha. After coffee I went for a drive to scout the road conditions. Mostly I just wanted to see how the truck handled on hwy H at a sport-touring pace.
Here is mostly how the roads look around there -
Here I am on Waterville Rd in the Kettle Moraine -
What would you do if you came up to this while riding a motorcycle?
There were a few opposite lock, sideways countersteering, Dukes of Hazzard moments around the corners but I did it on purpose. This would not supprise any of you that know me and have ridden with me though

My bad.
By the look of your pics though, maybe it's a good thing that I'm such a slug in the morning! The roads south of the border looked nothing like that; I think that might have turned me back before I got there anyway.

I woke up at 1pm, after one of the longest, crappest work weekends of the year. To date, anyway. I guess there are still some weekends left, so I should keep my mouth shut.

What would you do if you came up to this while riding a motorcycle?
Stand up on the pegs a little, sqeeze the tank with my knees, and keep the front wheel straight. I might've slowed some before I hit it, but stay on the throttle while riding through. I might not even slow down that much. Speed in stability and all that. There might also be some loud swearing and questioning what I was thinking, but that depends on how loose the rear wheel feels.

Yes, I clearly remember fearing for my life bouncing around in the back. Thanks for reminding me.

Cat and I made it there at 11am, stayed till 1130am and left. Those pics Matt took were right on. Snow and ice pretty much covered all the roads I had planned to ride. Oh well, maybe another day.
Now if someone would call for pizza

Dang I just missed you then. I would have thought you would have gotten there earlier than me and then left. I wasn't sure of the time of the meeting because there was none posted. So I guessed 10.
It seems the only way to convince people to drive their cars to one of these is to have more than just coffee. Pizza might have to be involved
Good for Fourstring for trying to ride though.
