In the latest motorcyclist mag he mentions that Harley is in trouble cuz their bikes are stuck in the past.  Then he mentions how great the new XR1200R is that he is riding.  Then he mentions how poorly it is selling.  Then he mentions Harley should make a new XR12CR and that would be cool (that basically IS the XR1200R, just add a cafe bikini fairing).  Then he mentions how well the Dark series are selling (see mention of bikes stuck in the past)...

And yes, my sub to Motorcyclist is a freebie courtesy of Roadgear...

I'm actually enjoying the magazine now in spite of him and Carrithers..

I cancelled my subscription to Motorcyclist a couple of years ago after they ran a three page article about some douchebag kid on a GSXR/CBR/FZR 600 who covered his entire bike with blue painters tape and intentionally baited the the police to chase him. He would outrun the police, then make it home and take the tape off so the police could not ID the bike.

The problem is the article completely glorified this kid and his dangerous behavior...

My from own personal knowledge, a high speed chase is a VERY DANGEROUS EVENT which will often end in some form of tragic crash in which people (innocent or otherwise) will get seriously hurt or die. Lawsuits will get filed, and people will go to jail or to the morgue.

Motorcyclist Magazine can go to hell for all I care.

Nope, yer not -- my l;ast sub finished 3 years ago --e very other month I get some 8th class mail beseecching me to return to the fold, 2 days after the latest issue arrives . . .

I believe it may have to do with the statistic you see once a year in magazines -- Total Delivered Copies (which helps when figuring ad rates).

Motorcyclist is so FOS the only way any one reads it is they gave a years subscrption away. The whole rag , in general is a huge bunch of suckage, with little redeeming value other than some amaturish pictures. Catterson is a  douchbag of the first order .

The day in the year that Motorcyclist magazine with Honda's "Bitch" Bohem at the helm, voted the new VFR 800 as MOTY over the new R1, was the same day I stopped reading it. (1998 IIRC)  That magazine along with "squids are us" Sport Rider, are the biggest jokes out there, too sad even to laugh at.  Thumbsdown Not that I hold many MC reviewers in high esteem regardless of media, "Motorcyclist USA" or whatever that internet site is called, makes me want to puke as well.  Hurl

I moved - they haven't found me yet.

I actually miss it - sure the guy is 100% douche - but I found many of the articles amusing.

I recall the Connie or ZX14 doing a Euro Cannonball run that was a fun read.

I wouldn't pay for it - but If you don't like it toss it and let it go.

Why all the hate?

It was the model before the Vtec that they voted bike of the year.  Isn't that the Gen 5?
